Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘Away’

Nike Zoom Kobe V

The comment section was filled with both positive and negative remarks on the Nike Zoom Kobe V “Chaos” we showed you a couple of days ago. That is very understandable seeing that the chaotic color scheme it possesses does not suit everyone. However, check out the detailed photos of the Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘Away’ colorway.

Whether the Kobe V is an upgrade from the Kobe IV is for you to decide, yet, one cannot argue that this is definitely a highly-detailed basketball sneaker. It obviously possesses the well-recognized Lakers color scheme, but its texture makeup and design set this shoe apart from many. Its most distinctive feature lies on the side panels where a covered flywire design appears. It also owns a new, shiny, scale-like material throughout the midfoot and toe area. Other distinctive features include Kobe’s number 24 at the front of the sole and a mesh-like pattern located on the collar area. What are your thoughts on the Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘Away’? you dudes crack me up talkin mess to one another over shoes…. ill ball in these….

  2. Marwan

Guys you cant blame Kobe for this design, he has other things to do than design the shoe. What he does is he gets someone from Nike and he tells them what he wants. “I want a light weight shoe, won’t hold me down, good performance” and then Nike makes about 3 or 4 samples. Kobe then picks the best out of the 3 or 4 samples and the shoe is made.

So dont blame Kobe if you don’t like them. He doesnt really care about looks, he just wants the shoe that will help him.

Personally I like these shoes, and am going to cop a pair in Dream Team colors.

  3. squirrelwide

    uggg.
    im sorry these aint fly

  4. prince

FOOLS! these will be on everyones feet just like the ivs are now.

  5. wumba

I love the lakers but dam kobe step ur shoe game up. What’s with the kobe V being a nike cortez knock off. The IV’s were the ish but the V’s dam ugly.

  6. kissthesky213

    these r not that bad
in my opinion, all of kobes shoes look good besides those moon joints when he was with adidas

  7. tae

these coulda been a high top and kats would hate anyway. lets recap here….. the best player in da game won a ring last year in low cut shoes…… but my bad yall no whats best for winning

  8. greenmaker24

    not feeling these

  9. OREGONtrees

This was epic fail in the design department. I dont care how much theyre about performance, not an excuse for this monstrousity.

  10. Retro3

@ “Retro8″ I’ve had this name forever and I’ve never once seen you reply to ant topic on Nice Kicks until now.
I am aware that Lance Armstrong rides a bike, but Nike releases “Livestrong” editions of all types of shoes from Dunks to Air Max’s so stfu.

  11. NewJerseyGiant

Kobe’s only sneaker that was actually hot was the Air Zoom Huarache 2k4’s. Anything after that was garbage including these

  12. d.knott01(detroit fresh)

dope enough to rock. better than the iv’s

  13. XkrispyELI

these are great. i cant wait to see these in person.

  14. Massa

    @dan

    You have your opinions, great.
    I respect them.
    But Kobe stole moves?!?
Of course he has like EVERY SINGLE PLAYER in the game!!!
I’m sorry but that is just a stupid comment.

Well, the performance of IV’s were great and hopefully the V would have even better. On the looks, I personally think it looks decent. They kind of remind me of Nike’s indoor soccer shoes.

  15. C.S

eh… Hope I can still cop a pair of Kobe IVs or 4s. 5’s are probably the most hideous Kobe shoes I’ve seen. Maybe another colorway or diffrent type of material might do this shoe some justice, but IVs or 4s are the best kobe shoes.

  16. MJSF

Kobe shoes been fell off since the IIIs.

    SMFH

  17. RETRO8S

lance armstrong running shoes? “Retro3″ first. lance armstrong is a bicyclist, not a runner. second. find your own damn name. BYTER.

i don’t know about these yet…maybe they look better when your wearing them. i need to see them in person still.

  18. spock

looks like low cut versions of hyperdunk

  19. swill

I knew Nike couldn’t top the IVs.

  20. 24lebron24

who cares if he steals moves when he’s the best at executing them lol? thats like saying ure mad at nike for stealing the idea of bball shoe from converse. im feeling the 5s so far, too bad ppl don’t see it yet…but soon as kobe fades away on somebody in these on espn ppl will hype over em.

  21. dan

all low tops have looked ugly, including the kobe 4s, the only shoe that has ever pulled off a low top look was gilbert arenas, who kobe stole the low top idea off him just like he stole every move of his game from other players

  22. Danan Grace

Man they are starting to look better and better tha more i see them

  23. :)

WOOOWWW!!!! never been used, and already the shoe has been creased!!! what a great way of advertising!

  24. word is bond - thats whats up

    WOW - what a dissapointment
i was gonna hold off on the V till i saw a reasonable CW
here is a reasonable one and the thing still looks awful
there isnt one part of this thing which is better than the IV - the IV is gotta be one of the best basketball shoes all time - the performance is so good its silly and looks good too (besides having way too many CWs) I really cant say anything good about this one cause i dont know how it could perform better and certainly looks worse

  25. Cha-Ching

Lebron’s look way better and I’m a Lakers Fan for life. I mean damn, they already wrinkled on the sole.

  26. juicey

Why do some people jump the gun on the whole ankle spraining thing. an ankle sprain is an ankle sprain… Whether its high-tops or low-tops and you land on someone’s foot and roll your ankle, the risk will always be there… Now the severity of the sprain is a completely different argument between highs and lows… but thats not what this is about… People just assume that because they’re low, they’re not cut out for ball… In the end, I guess its all about preference, but I must admit that the IV’s did exceed my expectations on the court, so I’m looking forward to seeing how these will match up…

  27. Classick

Fire………….to ball in and stunt……looks like the lambo of kix

  28. nict

obviously the iv’s overshadowed the lebron vi last year and will probably be the other way round this year.nike has done this on purpose..pity lebron aint gonna get a ring though..

  29. nict

obviously the iv’s overshadowed the lebron vi last year and will probably switch this year.nike has done this on purpose

  30. kevin

i personally can’t wait to play in these the IVs were amazing and these are very similar except they have full length zoom instead of heel only plus the only reason he is still wearing the IVs is because nike is cashing in on lebron right now plus he still has to wear the 4 or 5 colorways of the IV that nike is still going to release

  31. Resident Hater

the ankle spraining argument is dumb….NBA players wrap their ankles in a WHOLE roll of tape each game…probably each half…

    Average man doesnt.

Question…Dude these have flywire in them or Phantom Wire in them like the Training shoe

  32. Tommy

I like these, but I wish there was a top view picture. When I got my IV’s, how the shoe look from the top really surprised me.

  33. FLASH

y’all hate these right now, but when you see kobe rockin em and you actually play ball on em y’all be all over it! but I agree the IV’s look so much better. Performance wise it might be V > IV

  34. 666

Kobe won a ring with low tops so the rolled ankle, or whatever claim needs to stop.
you people need to think outside of the box for once and realize that Kobe gets the job done in low tops so… None of you are in the NBA and you never will be, so lets have the pro’s prove what can and cant work on the court.

The Jordan 15 isn’t much higher than these. Also didn’t hear anyone complain when the VI lows dropped, or the 11 lows. Just Get Over It should be the new Nike slogan.

  35. a

Kobe wasn’t even wearing these atrocities in last night’s game against the Rockets. He was wearing a pair of Zoom IVs. He probably doesn’t like them either These are straight ugly. Silhouette looks like a trash bag full of orange wedges.

  36. danield6

lol it ain’t holloween no more so stop trying to scare us.
everything is just off about this shoe.

  37. gmerc

Kobe has NEVER had a decent looking pair of sneakers….not even ONCE.

  38. ihustle2hard83

Kobe out for the season with a broken ankle lol

  39. Michael Manalo

    TADJAK!!!! PEAKS are better

  40. Michael Manalo

tadjak tong kobe V; PEAKS are better

  41. S.H.I.T.- Sneaker Head In Training

lol ther not that bad, do they even have flywire?

  42. Ajo

    hideous, absolutely hideous

  43. JzeusTx

Haha looks like Nike has bigger plans for The King James… It almost seems like the Kobe V should have been the Kobe IV and the Kobe IV should have been the Kobe V… but thats just my opinion

  44. Retro3

How are these BASKETBALL Shoes? They look like some Lance Armstrong running shoes.

  45. SB Junkie

They look like combo of the Kobe IV’s and Steve Nash’s shoes

  46. Jmall

    no way…..

  47. Erick

Ugly! Horrible shoe! I love Kobe, hate this shoe! How would you wear that unless you were playing ball!

  48. tripp

TRASH CAN!!!!! The IV’s were better…

  49. @Welcometonezone

Better. Much Better than the Chaos!

  50. Mrmarquee
