Release Reminder: Air Jordan 12 Retro “Flu Game”

This Black Friday, November 27th, 2009, Jordan Brand will unleash the second installment of its major holiday releases in the form of the Air Jordan 12 Retro “Flu Game”. The Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” is a carbon color copy of the Air Jordan XII Black/Varsity Red that released in 1997. However, there are a number of differences between the two. This time around, Jordan Brand applied nubuck on the upper in exchange for the leather seen on the OGs. In addition, the heel panel features an imprint of a sick face and the numbers ‘97′ and ‘38′. These attributes represent Jordan scoring 38 points in the ‘97 Finals while having the flu. Is this a must-have for you? |

these shoes are tight, just bought them. not the best quality but whats new. i think the whole flu game thing is tight. JB cant just keep making the same shoe or it will decrease the value of the 03 and og edition. i also think it is kind of ironic that the “flu game” jordans come out in 09 right after all the swine flu outbreaks. this shoe truely represents 09 and will go down in history as a must have.

I went to galleria in Houston and they had 3 size 8.5 in stock for me so i got to pick the nicest pair with no defects lol ! these are really nice jays, i like them better than the OG because the nubuck doesn’t crease at all and the red part on the shoes is just like the OGs. I keep all my shoes in cedar wood shoe trees so these are going to look fresh for years to come. Next for me is the white and red 12’s and space jams. You guys should really get these! you will regret if you don’t and the quality is awesome by the way.

I BOUGHT THESE 4 MY LIL BROTHER BACK IN 97 when i was in my spring semester of college..
now it’s 2009 and everybody was going nuts when they didn’t have their size…i actually was about 2 give up finding them until they had tha last 13 in FOOTLOCKER..LOL… my kids gettin tha “space jams”
cuz i got killa outfits 4 them 4 XMAS!!! i’ll pass on tha space jams only 2 wait 4 tha retro 6 in JANUARY…but then again, those white/red look like a pair i gotta have…

I bought em… I don’t mind the transition from leather to nubuck… If you really think about this, this shoe is more a testament to Michael’s “Flu Game” rather than the sneaker he wore itself, so all the little additions should be viewed as such. It’s not the same sneaker, fellow sneakerheads, just similar colors. So don’t complain. Just buy. heh

I read all the comments and I figure most of you just like to whine. Get your chips up and go buy the shoes cause we all know if the price goes down all the clowns screaming they suck will be having them on their feet. Man Jordan can do what he wants with his shoes. Someone will always buy them. Different times call for different ideas. Stop complaining.

These are a definite pass. straight garbage. If you compare these to the OG’s and the 03 retro, there a BIG differences. These aren’t even a “carbon color copy” of the OG Bred XII’s as NiceKicks say they are. I’m glad I was able to get the ‘03 retro on the bay deadstock in my size! Here are the differences between the Flu Games and the OG and 03 retros.
1.) Flu Games = 23 on heel is red on red….OG and 03 retro = 23 is black over red
2.) Flu Games = Jordan script is white on black….OG and 03 retro = Jordan script is red over black
3.) Flu Games = Nubuck uppers, sick face,97, 38 on tongue….OG and 03 retro = tongue says “two 3″ and most importantly…..uppers are made of LEATHER. not cheap ass nubuck.
Very disappointed with JB. The quality of materials is getting cheaper and cheaper. I’m gonna stick to the stuff before 2008. Anything else is just bad quality.
Off course there are exceptions to the rule…i.e. 09 Space Jams, 2010 Bred Vi’s, 2010 powder blue ix’s, and 2010 chicago X’s, slam dunk pack, and copper foams

That suede just killed it,its a big turn off to jordan heads,yu can say otherwise,but i seen alot of sneakerheads saying the samething over and over,like what is this,what did they do,you cant be serious,like i said,i seen some young cats buying and wearing these,i think thats because most of them werent into shoes way back in the day,or they werent old enough back then to have th og,s,or the first set of retro,s,the older heads 27-47 arent liking these at all,i was on the fence but when i seen these in person,my brain was telling me you cant be serious,i wouldve copped maybe if i didnt know what i missin and never had better,im happy JB didnt suede out the sapce jams,ill be passing on the black/red 6,s,to,JB is putting thats ashy cheap suede crap on those also.

These are a easy pass like brett favre,seen them in person and i was highly disapointed in the suede material used by JB on these,big let down,i seen some young heads wearing them,and i seen a few older heads like myself looking at these with those noses turnt up like what did they do to these,people wanted to buy these but they couldnt bring themselves to buy the flu,s,after allready having the og,s,people kept picking them up and just looking at them debating on coppin or not,alot of people passed on these,everybody was talking about the space jams and white/red 12,s,and these are everywhere,nobody is coppin these,every store online and offline are stocked to ceiling with these,bad move on JB by changing the materials on these,im coppin the white/red 12,s,and space jams,im a addict for leather or patent leather.

FOR EXAMPLE IF YOUR LOCAL FTL HAS 30 PAIRS OF FLU GAMES AND THEY ONLY SELL 6 PAIRS FROM NOW TIL DEC 24TH. YOUR LOCAL FTL MITE NOT SELL THE SPACE JAM XI.

i just got mine, they kind of disappointed me a lil bit, dont get me wrong they a nice shoe but they look and feel a bit CHEAP to me it seems like every 12 feels different some way. i like the feel of the black and carolina blue nubucks they so comfortable i have 2 pairs but these a nice pick-up fa the collectors out there and they did come with that retro card so thats a plus :{{{}][[[[]\\\\>new orleans we on the map bayou classic goin down to night!!!!!!!!!

they are a nice shoe…but when i saw them first hand…i wish they kept it with the black leather…the nubuck isnt as black as the picture shows it…its almost like an ashy black…still a clean looking shoe…but wish they used the leather instead…

These will be one of the most wanted releases this year. I had a chance to check them out in footlocker and the red areas on the shoes actually look like the OGs. It looks like an old red that has been worn out but the rest of the shoe is actually pretty nice. These is a definitely a must have!
