Nike Zoom Kobe V “Bruce Lee”

Nike Zoom Kobe V Bruce Lee

As we’ve reported, the Nike Zoom Kobe V will initially release on December 25th through the NikeiD program. In 2010, however, the Kobe V will begin to release in Nike constructed color-ups.

One such color-up is this Bruce Lee edition. Nike created this look for the V to assuage Kobe’s affinity for Kung Fu. The yellow upper and laces allude to the yellow bodysuit Bruce Lee wore in “The Game of Death” and is, of course, fitting for the Lakers. There are also four red scratch marks on the lateral toe area. These marks duplicate the scratches Bruce Lee took while fighting in “Enter the Dragon”.

The Bruce Lee Kobe Vs will be a Spring/Summer 2010 global release. They are, however, available now at select spots across the nation for a hefty price. Click here to view additional photos.

nothing makes these shoes look good! no color ways, no movie theme, they just aren’t that hot! they still look like cross trainers! and he doesnt even wear them on court yet…lebron wears his new shoes, jordan broke out his new shoes every time the season started, and you couldnt wait to get a upclose pic of what was on his feet, and then finally get your own pair! Kobe’s shoe don’t have that kind of appeal!

HOLY CRAP THESE ARE EFFING SICK. SICK. SICK. I’ve been waiting for a nice Bruce Lee-based design–glad Nike came correct…Asics missed out on this. And, if there is anyone who can compare themselves to Bruce Lee on the hardwood…it’s Kobe right now.

  12. Posted by biggins at December 11, 2009 at 11:47 am

Hey Matt/Nice Kicks–any idea where I can grab these now?

    In his post, Bert mentioned:
“They are, however, available now at select spots across the nation for a hefty price.”

Depending on the hefty price…I may purchase so I can Big-Daddy-Pimp these early for pick-up games.

too bad he was wearing onitsuka tigers in the movie.

even though onitsuka is credited for nike’s start. i guess theres a relationship indirectly.

The scratches look like a last second add-on.

  18. Posted by Biff Tannen at December 11, 2009 at 2:56 pm

F – that ! Bruce wears Asics, period! Nike was out back then. Besides, how are you gon combine two movies into a shoe……………….that he never wore! Anybody from the oldschool knows these are super B.S.! Eat it up you suckas!

  19. Posted by Steezy at December 11, 2009 at 4:11 pm

nobody said these wack excuses when nike did the freddy krueger, and Joker color ways….just because the star never wore them doesn’t mean a color way inspired by them can’t be done. You lames need day jobs

  20. Posted by freshcleankicks at December 11, 2009 at 6:13 pm

  21. Posted by sneakerphile42 at December 11, 2009 at 8:04 pm

What does this shoe have to do with asians everywhere? LOL, you gotta be kidding me. These are a dope colorway and a prefectly excecuted theme. Who cares if he wore these or not. It’s not that serious. Like Steezy said, you lames need day jobs……or girlfriends

  22. Posted by greenmaker24 at December 12, 2009 at 11:25 am

    not feeling these

  23. Posted by Biff Tannen at December 12, 2009 at 12:30 pm

My whole arguement is that Master Lee WORE ASICS!!!!!!!! So a Nike shoe like this is wack! Any real educated sneaker afficianato knows this! Bruce endorsed ASICS, as featured in his workouts & movies! So you dumba$$es buy anything that says Nike huh? Proof is in the pudding Steezy & Sneakerphile42, do research b4 U come on here. Don’t be 85ers all your life, do the knowledge 100%, especially when it comes to sensi Lee!

  24. Posted by Big Daddy Sneaks at December 12, 2009 at 7:10 pm

…because 3 stripes would look kinda like a certain competitor with Nike, dontcha think?

Duh, Bruce Lee never wore f*cking Kobe’s or Nike’s! Nike had just came out when Lee died.

    Great concept by Nike.

I’m a die hard magic fan. Have been since ’89. Winning seasons and losing! But Kobe is one of the greatest players of this time. He plays hard up 20 or down 20. He can rock out any scheme that inspires him. He has made an amazing shoe for the player no the “do they go with these jeans” puto! I have three pairs of Kobe vi’s and just played my first game in the V’s and they are an amazing basketball shoes designed for athletes not jean and hoodie thugs and collectors. Also, noting on the low cut of the shoes: I played college soccer as well and fully understand the concept of locking the heel instead of immobilizing the ankle. This type of design could revolutionize athletic shoes for all sports.

if that synthetic grey instead of yellow…i think is much better. too funky and the red is annoying, must be innovative.

  32. Posted by j at January 21, 2010 at 9:56 pm

I demand they make girl sizes!!!!!!!!!!!

  33. Posted by man at February 6, 2010 at 12:43 am

I think its pretty cool since Kobe had always been a fan of bruce lee AND he practices JKD.

  34. Posted by MASTERLEELIVES at February 6, 2010 at 4:14 am

For all of you who think (Biff Tannen) who think this shoe is a disgrace of Master Lee…. think about this his whole thing was that in life that no one style is the best to take the best of things in different areas…. thats why this shoe is cool…. Kobe V if you never wore them, are the lightest pair of shoes ever and they are the best shoes to play ball in (not just me saying it). Add in Kobe being the best player in the game today and Master Lee’s legendary style and you have the KOBE V BRUCE LEE.

BUT HATERS WILL BE HATERS… OHH WELL MAKES AT EASIER TO FOR REAL FANS TO GET THEM!

The bright yellow upper of the shoe is said to be inspired by the yellow jumpsuit Lee wears in the movie Game of Death.
