Top NBA draft prospect Ben Simmons is looking to sign a shoe before the league’s annual draft lottery event on May 17th, when teams have their selection order slotted, and he’s meeting with both adidas and Nike this week to begin endorsement contract negotiations.
Simmons and his agent Rich Paul will meet with adidas later today in Los Angeles, then meet with Nike over the weekend. Paul’s agency Klutch Sports Group will then likely continue negotiations into early next week, and look to make a decision on Simmons’ shoe deal before next weekend.
Neither brand is believed to be offering a signature shoe, but would create custom PEs of their newest statement level models in Simmons’ team colors. Since turning pro, Ben has been seen rotating between both Nike and adidas sneakers in workouts and off-court appearances.
