The DDCLAB x New Balance “The Reflective 420” is a fully reflective sneaker built on the vintage New Balance running silhouette, the 420, which helped solidify NB’s place in the industry by being named as Runner’s World Magazine’s #1 running shoe in 1982.
DDCLAB co-owners, and recently named New Balance Lifestyle Creative Directors, Savania Davies-Keiller and Robert Crivello, took the collaboration project head-on and came up with shoes that feature a material made of tiny bits of glass beads. This makes them able to reflect light better than imaginable. The fabric amazingly is also scuff resistant (yes, I tried), dirt-repellent, and water-repellent, and encompasses the entire upper of the shoes. DDCLAB will also be releasing an apparel collection in the same material. Which means you won’t have to worry about the paparazzi any longer, because all their flashes will pick up is a blurred silhouette of you in your fresh new kicks and gear. Available early November exclusively at DDCLAB and Barney’s. |
