Nike Air Flightposite II Metallic Zinc

Nike Air Flightposite II Black/Black-Black

At the beginning of January, Nike re-released the Air Flightposite II Black/Black after a 10-year hiatus to many people’s liking. In addition, Nike will unleash the Nike Air Flightposite II Metallic Zinc/Metallic Zinc-Black later this year for $180. However, we have spotted this shoe early on eBay in a size 9.

This particular Air Flightposite II features a primarily metallic zinc colored base combined with black suede throughout the midfoot section. The latter section is also complimented with a inner lining, shoeslaces and outsole of the same color. If you recall, this particular shoe was a European exclusive when it first released years ago. Yet, when it releases this upcoming March, it will be available for all. As stated earlier, you can now bid on this size 9 on eBay. Hit the jump to view more photos.

Nike Air Flightposite II Black/Black-Black

Nike Air Flightposite II Black/Black-Black

It’s hard to believe it was 10 years ago that the Nike Air Flightposite II hit retailers as a signature model for Kevin Garnett. This triple-black sneaker may no longer be the choice model of the Big Ticket, but its retro release has been long-awaited by many readers.

As mentioned above, this shoe is completely black, but it is far from plain. A carbon fiber midsole lays the foundation for an upper of foam and nubuck, which covers the entire forefoot area. On the midfoot a zipper brings two flaps together over the laces. The reception was very positve when we broke news of this retro, and now the time has come to grab a pair at Extra Butter for a cool $180.

Designer of the Decade - Eric Avar

Designer of the Decade

A shoe is much more than just leather and rubber. To many consumers, the shoe represents an attitude or their favorite athlete, or something that defines who they are as a person. For some, the final product is the fruition of their art and science. As technology advanced and manufacturing capabilities became virtually limitless, the designs of footwear reached new heights.

For the last part of the 90’s, this individual started changing the way we looked at performance basketball with the designs of the Nike Air Penny I, Nike Air Foamposite, and the Nike Air Flightposite. During the 2000s, he continued to redefine what were the new the standards in performance basketball with shoes such as the Huarache 2k4, the Hyperdunk, and the Kobe series. The best footwear designer of this decade is none other than Eric Avar.

As Innovation Kitchen Creative Director of Special Projects, Avar has taken the lead of bringing Nike’s latest technological innovations and applying them to creating a better performing product. Never fully satisfied, his aim and approach to create something better with each new model gives consumers the greatest footwear money can buy.
