Nike Dynasty High “Georgetown Hoyas”

Nike Dynasty High "Georgetown Hoyas"

Even the best hoopers need some solid off-court sneakers. And for just that reason, Nike has obliged the Georgetown Hoyas, and their fans, with these Dynasty Highs.

Donning the schools colors of grey and navy blue, these are perfect for any Allen Iverson or Patrick Ewing fan. Leather is used for for the entirety of the upper, with the exception of strap around the collar. The print on the strap and heel/ankle area is Georgetown’s signature pattern, much the way Jordan used this and North Carolina’s argyle on the Air Jordan 15 SE Braggin Rights. Hopefully we’ll see more off-court shoes done in Nike school colorways as the season gets going.

Why Retirement May Not Be Allen Iverson’s Answer

Allen Iverson to retrire?Allen Iverson, a four time scoring title holder as well as former MVP, is far from his the days of his prime, but Allen has millions reasons not to retire at this point in his career - 6 million according to some sources.  Iverson entered the NBA in 1996 with a footwear contract with Reebok initially for 10 years to the tune of $50M.  After snatching MVP honors in 2001, his contract with Reebok was renegotiated for a lifetime deal paying Iverson a rumored $6 million per year for the duration of his professional career.  Reebok has plans in the near future to re-release one of Iverson’s most sought after shoes, the Reebok Question which he wore en route to his Rookie of the Year honors.

The market for the 10 time NBA All Star is far from what it was on the basketball front.  Last year he pulled in $20.8M compared to a $3M deal he would have received had he stayed with Memphis throughout the rest of the year.

The annual 8 figure salary may be gone, but at $6M a season to lace up his sneakers, don’t expect AI to be so quick to hang up his kicks.

In a losing effort to the Sacramento Kings, Allen Iverson debuted his latest signature sneaker dubbed the Reebok Answer XIII. The Answer XIII possesses a bulkier build than the aforementioned Answer XII and seems to value performance over style. Steve Nash

nash-header-iii1

Steve Nash is one of the most dynamic point guards in the league while remaining one of the most dynamic personalities off the court. Nash is a two time MVP (2005, ’06), 6 time All-Star (’02,’03, ‘5-’08) and holds career numbers of 17-plus points and over 8 assists per. Nash was originally drafted by Phoneix with the15th pick in a stacked draft class of ’96 which included Allen Iverson, Marcus Camby, and Kobe Bryant just to name a few. After two nondescript years with the Suns, Nash was delt to the Mavericks where he nestled in and started to put up career numbers. Nash eventually re-signed with the Suns where he took home two MVP’s but is still in search of his first chip.

Nash is a dual sport athlete, who excelled in both soccer and basketball while in High School. Nash is famously quoted saying that he “could have played professional soccer if he focused on it”. Nash frequently trains with the New York Redbulls during the off-season and is responsible for pick-up celebrity soccer games in NYC featuring the likes of Baron Davis and Thierry Henry. Nash is also famous for his environmental inclinations which have been made public through the use of recycled materials on his latest Nike signature shoes. Both the Nike Zoom MVP Trash Talk, and the Nike Zoom MVP “Earth Day” feature eco-friendly designs that would make Mother Nature proud. Nash is also the inspiration behind the Nike Air Max 90 “Nash” edition which features his iconic symbol on the tongue and a campy, nature themed flannel interior. Nash has been named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people, and is the founder of the Steve Nash Charitable Foundation.
