In a private meeting with Penny Hardaway, legendary Nike designer Eric Avar had the task of presenting Penny with a new shoe.? After going through various models Hardaway asked to see what was in the bag when Avar pulled out a synthetic, neon sneaker, molded form new technology.? Hardaway fell in love with the Air Foamposite and it is perhaps his most famed shoe.? The shoe was made famous for it’s steep price tag ($180) and endorsement by Penny.? Mike Bibby also wore the shoe at Arizona during his Championship run his freshmen year.? An all-time class, the Nike Air Foamposite broke ground in technology and design.? Foamposite technology is still around and used today.? The original molds were destroyed but new ones were made to produce retros of the original colorway and a host of new flavors.
