Kicks On Court: ‘Krazy’ Talk

Kicks On CourtThroughout our Kicks On Court, Allen Iverson’s Answer 12 has been the most acclaimed Reebok sneaker during the 2008-09 sneaker. However, the Omni Hexride and the Talkin’ Krazy have also received some mention as well. Last night, we spotted Dallas Mavericks guard Jason Terry sporting a new colorway of the Talkin’ Krazy.

Against the Golden State Warriors, Jason Terry laced up a silver/blue colorway of the Reebok Talkin’ Krazy. It contains a predominately metallic silver upper with royal blue accents on the ankle area, toe box and sole. Many of you stated the New Orleans Hornets forward Rasual Butler owned the best Talkin’ Krazy PEs, however, has Jason Terry dethroned him? Kicks On Court: Durant Debuts 1st Signature Shoe

Kicks On Court - January 12th, 2009

After hooping in the Nike Air Blue Chip PE for most of the first half of the 2008-09 NBA season, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant finally laced up his first signature sneaker, the Nike KD1. Our Kicks On Court spotted Oklahoma City’s superstar sporting two different colorways of this sneaker in back-to-back games against the Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls.

Coinciding with the jersey colors, the ‘Home’ colorway features a white leather upper with an orange swoosh on the outside of the shoe and a white swoosh on the inside. The inner side of the sneaker is completely covered in Oklahoma City Thunder orange. On the contrary, the ‘Away’ sneaker features a black upper with an orange swoosh on the outside and an aqua blue swoosh on the other side. Both sneakers feature Durant’s initials, in yellow, on the ankle area. Nevertheless, we can categorize this as one of the few Oklahoma City Thunder wins of this season. Look for the Nike KD1 to hit retailers in February 2009.

Kicks On Court - January 9th, 2009

Kicks On Court: January 9th, 2009In our Kicks On Court today, we take time out to notice a Nike sneaker that does not get as much acclaim as the more notables such as the Nike Hyperdunk, the Nike Air Power Max and the Nike Air Blue Chip. While we patiently wait on Kevin Durant’s Nike KD1, we have now spotted Dirk Nowitzki’s first signature shoe with Nike dubbed the Nike Air Max Spot Up.

Last night, against the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki stepped out of the Nike Hyperdunk for once and hooped in his newly-designed Nike Air Max Spot Up. The name of this sneaker was inspired by Dirk’s patented spot up jump shot he is most notably known for. This sneaker is perfect for Dirk’s inside-outside game as it features a breathable upper, visible air unit, full max air and a Phylon midsole. Nike has released four colorways of Dirk’s signature, so check your nearest retailer for the Nike Air Max Spot Up.

Kicks On Court - January 8th, 2009

Kicks On Court: January 8th, 2009How many alternate jerseys do the Cleveland Cavaliers own? Better yet, how many colorways of the Nike Zoom LeBron 6 are there? Last month, the Cleveland Cavaliers suited up in the yellow and red Hardwood Classic uniforms in which King James sported a matching Hardwood Classic Nike Zoom LeBron 6. Last night, our Kicks On Court spotted James in the second installment of his Nike Zoom LeBron 6 “Harwood Classic Series”.
Coinciding with the jersey color scheme, this Nike Zoom LeBron 6 featured a half-white and half-powder blue upper with yellow and red accents on the swoosh, tongue and heel. You cannot help but to think of the Superman uniform when you see this colorway of his latest sneaker. What is with James and super heroes? First Batman and now Superman? Nevertheless, the Zoom LeBron 6 keeps showing up in creative, inspiring colorways. Is this better than the “Triple Black” version he sported a couple of night ago?

Kicks On Court - January 7th, 2009

Kicks On Court: January 7th, 2009We really have not had to chance to see many Josh Howard PEs due to a severe ankle injury earlier this season. However, since he has returned our Kicks On Court has spotted him sporting the Jordan True Flight, the Jordan Jumpman Team Pro PEs, and now a Dallas Mavericks colorway-inspired Air Jordan 8 PE.

If you recall, J-Ho hooped in this Air Jordan 8 during the majority of the preseason, yet, this is the first time he laced them up for the regular season. According to you, this PE was one of the Top 10 Sneakers Worn In The Preseason. Wouldn’t it be nice to see more classic Jordan sneakers in this White/Navy Blue-Grey colorway?

Nike Air Force 1 2009 All-Star by DJ Clark Kent

Nike Air Force 1 2009 NBA All-Star Game

This year, many will travel to Phoenix, Arizona to take part in the 2009 NBA All-Star festivities. Besides watching basketball at its finest, the NBA All-Star Game is also a venue where exclusive sneakers make their debut. Although we have seen a couple of All-Star PEs already, one should be on the look out for this Nike Air Force 1 “2009 All-Star”.

Carefully created and designed by none other than DJ Clark Kent himself, this sneaker screams Phoenix. From Arizona’s landscape to the Phoenix Suns’ colorway, there are many inspirations and details that coincide with the home of 2009’s NBA All-Star Game.

The multi-textured upper features a predominately desert-tan nubuck upper inspired by the sandy desert of Arizona. The desert-tan toe box and side panels also feature a micro-perf texture. Continuing with the Arizona theme, the rest of the sneaker contains the Phoenix Suns colorway in the form of a purple patent leather heel and a full grain yellow leather swoosh. Also colored in the latter color mentioned is the piping bordering the side panels and the Nike logo tag found on the tongue. To finish Nike Air Force 1 “2009 All-Star” off, DJ Clark Kent added an orange leather-wrapped midsole and a gum bottom.

In addition, this sneaker comes with three sets of laces including the 3M Starks laces seen in the photo above. Look for the 2009 All Star Air Force Ones to jump off in mid February.  Knowing Clark, these won’t release in a very orthodox manner.  Stay tuned for more details and updates.  More photos after the jump from Marquee Sole.

Kicks On Court: Is Dwyane Disgruntled With Converse? - January 6th, 2009

Kicks On Court: January 6th, 2009The answer to that question is probably yes…just look at his feet! Two weeks before the basketball season began, we showed you photos of Dwyane Wade’s fourth signature sneaker, the Converse Wade 4. Usually, when a signature shoe is released, the player is often seen on the court wearing it; however, why have we yet to see ‘Flash’ rocking the Wade 4?

Throughout our Kicks On Court, we have spotted Wade hooping in the Converse Wade 1 night in and night out. I wonder how Converse feels by designing a signature sneaker for one of its athletes only to never see him hooping in it!

If you recall, during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, some of the signature sneaker athletes (LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony) debuted their latest sneaker while ‘Flash’ hooped in a Converse team signature sneaker. When D Wade’s Converse contract is up, could these signs be pointing towards a Nike or JB signing? Considering the Miami Heat’s jerseys, wouldn’t it be nice to see Wade sporting some OG colorway Jordan sneakers?
