Adidas Originals Star Wars Collection Preview

Adidas Originals Star Wars Collection

Star Wars has been a popular theme on sneakers for a very long time. We even showed you the History of Star Wars Sneakers on the unofficial Star Wars Day (May 4th). Adidas looks to add to the aforementioned list by introducing an Originals Star Wars Collection.

This particular Stars Wars inspired collection is slightly different from the rest in that the sneakers are inspired by specific characters and/or scenes in the movie. Adidas chose to use some of its classic Originals models and also incorporated apparel in this collection. Look for this collection to hit select retailers in January 2010. adidas Originals Five-Two 3 City Artist Pack

adidas Originals Five-Two 3 City Artist Pack

adidas has really stepped their collaboration status up lately, working with industry-leading retailers like Bodega and Undefeated on recent packs. Next up is the Five-Two 3 City Artist Pack, which pairs the footwear company with five artists from five major international art hotbeds.

London’s Pochoir worked on a Superstar, making the heel area appear like a worn-down brick wall. From Italy, photographer Fakso went to work on the Nizza High, dressing it in black accents on yellow tone photo. French influence is seen in the gold Flor De Lis that appear over blue nubuck on the KRSN x Stan Smith 80. Japanese-influenced New York transplant Dalek dressed a Forum Mid with his Space Monkey character and multiple shades of grey on a black leather base. The fifth and final shoe in the pack is an adidas Samba designed by MADSAKI, who is based out of Tokyo. The wildest of the bunch, MADSAKI concepted a flap over the laces, changing the original Samba silhouette drastically.

Goodfoot x adidas Originals Rod Laver

Goodfoot x adidas Originals Rod Laver

adidas continues to roll out the Consortium and Originals collaborations and limited edition releases. With this Originals Rod Laver, Canada’s Goodfoot (GDFT) had a go at the low top design, dressing it up in grey and even designing a matching Varsity jacket to dress you up.

From the get-go, you can tell these are very similar to the Clae Russell “Wool”. The uppers mix in dark grey wool with a mix of accents in light grey leather, which is also used for the liner. Details include a custom insole reading “The brand with the three stripes, eh!,” paying homage to the Canadian roots of GDFT. If you recall, we got a small sneak peek of these not too long ago as a part of the adidas Consortium Rod Laver Collection, pt. 2. These are available through Goodfoot now.

adidas Originals Stan Smith 2 for Christmas

Adidas Stan Smith 2 for Christmas

It’s not even Halloween yet and adidas has rolled out this Stan Smith 2 for the Holiday season. Decked out in Christmas colors, this low-cut classic is available now in Japan at Flauge, with more than enough time to get it gift-wrapped and put under the tree.

The entirety of the uppers is decked out in forest green suede. A nice furry red liner completes the color scheme, while gold accents add in some more traditional colors. Gold foil text spells out “Seasons Greetings” in the place of “Stan Smith” along the mid-section. Adidas Originals for October

Adidas Originals for October

Adidas Originals just released its newest Fall grouping for October. There are three releases so far, plus a fourth for kids and toddlers.

The first sneaker is the Forum Mid Limited in Black/Infrared/Pool. The bright blue color really pops on these, appearing on the sole, liner and accents throughout the uppers. The classic Three Stripes are infrared, as is the contrast stitching near the ankle. The second shoe, a Conductor Hi, comes in black and red. A majority of the upper is leather, with dark tweed used to fill in the gaps. Red is used for the midsole and a few accents, as well. The final adult sneaker, the Original TRX switches it up a bit, losing the red for an all-blue upper, with a mix of materials including suede. Lightning yellow is the accent color of choice for the stripes and midsole. Finally, for the young ones is the Nizza Hi Buffalo Check, putting flannel on the uppers with leather touches.
