Air Jordan 2.5 Low Black/Green
Posted by George Kiel III | Apr 9, 2009
If you watched the Boston Celtics Vs LA Lakers game on Christmas Day, this Air Jordan 2.5 may look somewhat familiar to you. Nicknamed the “Clover”, this Ray Allen PE was sported by him with red shoelaces (see Kicks On Court: Holiday Special) in the aforementioned game.
The “Clover” features a predominately green nubuck upper with white accents in various places such as the words ‘Sugar Ray’ seen close to the ankle area. Similar to the Air Jordan 2.5 Ray Allen PE we showed you last week, this colorway also contains elephant print and an air sole unit on the heel. According to you, the Air Jordan 2.5 is an average sneaker, but doesn’t Ray Allen’s PEs somewhat sway your opinion sometimes? It seems that Ray Allen always has some of the craziest player exclusives on the court, no matter how many teams he plays for, he ends up with the color green in his PE’s. Considering there aren’t many, or any other players on Team Jordan that get green in their kicks, this keeps Ray’s footwear at the top of most collector’s cop lists.
The Air Jordan 2.5 Ray Allen PE is more of the same, but will be easier to get your hands on. A unique white and green colorway featuring both elephant print, and a little bit of reptile print on the toe area definitely set this colorway apart from other 2.5’s. Not to mention “Sugar Ray” stitched into the upper ankle. Thanks to FootLockerUnlocked, you can scoop these up at any of the House of Hoops locations (NY, LA, CHI) starting on December 27th. |
The Air Jordan 2.5 has been nearly an everyday thing in our Kicks On Court series but the upcoming Air Jordan 2.5 White/Black-Cement colorway will definitely be in demand off court.
This colorway of the 2.5 features the infamous print that will have people lining up early, and also hating that Jordan won’t leave the classics alone. Whether or not you like the style of the 2.5, these kicks sport a fresh twist on Jordan classics, with performance upgrades to keep your shoe game competitive on the court, or style cues to keep you looking fresh on the street, it won’t be hard to find a place in the closet for these. Not since MJ sported the True Blues III’s in his final run in Washington, have we seen the grey cement print hit the NBA hardwood, will these find their way onto KOC this season? Via kenlu. |
