With Nike bringing back the Training line in a major way this year, it is only appropriate that they bring back one of the shoes that helped them dominate the Training sector throughout the early 90’s, the Air Griffey Max 1.

The Nike Air Griffey Max and Nike Air Tailwind ‘92 both get a beautiful treatment of Varsity Royal and Volt Yellow in a truly old school Mariners-esque fashion. We’ve seen a number of colorways of both of these silhouettes this year, but this color combo is arguably the best to be applied to both.

We’ve seen a number of new colorways of the Nike Air Tailwind 92 in recent months, most recently a nice Flint Grey make-up.

The latest colorway to arrive at retailers is this Varsity Royal, Volt and White colorway. A classic early nineties colorup for a classic early nineties runner. The material make-up consists of a mesh toebox, suede on the Varsity Royal color overlay, and finalized by black leather on the Swoosh.

The Nike Retro Running January Releases include a couple pairs of the Air Max 1, one colorway for the ladies, and one colorway for the ladies. A monochromatic make-up of the Air Max 95 that can easily find daily use for any sneakerhead. Two crackle print colorways of the Air Structure Triax will definitely turn heads. To finish off the list, the highly anticipated return of the Air Tailwind 92 is a must have for running collectors.

With all these hybrid kicks finding their way to retailers, its good to see Nike still taking care of the old school cats, with some of the classic retro running shoes from the past done up in new colorways.

If you haven’t rocked a pair of Tailwind 92’s before, think of it as an Air Max 90, with a little more love for your sole. This would be a nice colorway to start with. At $95 you might even be able to cop this last minute with your leftover holiday money, and be rocking them over the holiday.
