High Snobiety x Asics Gel Lyte III Revealed

High Snobiety x Asics Gel Lyte III Revealed

High Snobiety has paired with footwear designer Ronnie Fieg to design these Asics Gel Lyte IIIs, completing the “Trilogy Project,” from which we’ve already seen the Nice Kicks and Culture Shoq collaborations. We already gave you a preview not too long ago, but now that we get a detailed look, you can make up your mind for good.

The grey patent leather is the first element you notice, as it wraps around the entire shoe, including the toe cap, heel and mid-panel logo areas. Navy blue is used as an accent along the midsole, matching the perforated suede used throughout the upper. Finally, the liner, and “tongue” flaps are done in a salmon hue, setting off the grey and blue. Three color laces, a selling point for many on previous collaborations, are used again here for good measure.

So which Gel Lyte III is officially your favorite? Head to the comments section and let us know.

High Snobiety x Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III

High Snobiety x Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III Sneak PeekCompleting the trilogy with Asics and David Z is this High Snobiety and Ronnie Fieg Asics Gel Lyte III. The other two parts of this were the Culture Shoq collaboration and of course, our very own Gel Lyte III, which you’re going to need an eBay account to get at this point.

From what we can see, Ronnie Fieg, who was involved in the entire trilogy design process, used a healthy dose of patent leather on the toe cap and for the eyestays. Navy perforated suede is used for the topside of the toe section, much like on our own version. The laces use two colors, mixing silver and blue. It looks like the navy suede continues along the side as well, filling the panel behind the Asics arches logo.

If you slept on our collaboration, don’t make the same mistake again, and stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

Asics Gel Lyte III Olive/Grey/Black-Orange

Asics Gel Lyte III

As you all know (unless you live under a rock), the highly anticipated Nice Kicks x Asics Gel Lyte III will officially be made available this Thursday, October 1st, on Davidz.com. However, to hold you over in such little time, we have spotted a very winter-ready Gel Lyte III available at Hanon.

This particular Gel Lyte III owns a very subtle, low-key color scheme, to say the least. The base is colored mostly in olive green and black, while various orange details appear throughout the side and heel panels. To finish it off, this Gel Lyte III’s grey midsole possesses a blue speckle-like design. As stated earlier, you can purchase this shoe now at Hanon. Click here to view additional photos.

Asics GT-II “Kiwi Fruit”

Asics GT-II "Kiwi Fruit"

Asics has turned more than a few heads and changed more than a few opinions as of late, whether by working with famous sneaker shops and sites on collaborations, like our own Nice Kicks x Asics Gel-Lyte III, or producing some clean in-house work like the “Yankee Doodle” we showed you two weeks ago. And now they’re bringing us these ultra-clean GT-II “Kiwi Fruit.”

While you might have expected to see a bright-green build for these based on their namesake, the kiwi cues show in the subtleties of the design, including the speckled laces and the accent above the heel. The remaining upper is all white with a mix of leather and mesh, offset with a touch of red on the stitching along the trademarked Asics arches design. Expect these in December at select Asics dealers.

Asics Directional Level for Fall

Asics Directional Level for Fall

Asics’ Directional Level line is comparable to Nike’s QS approach, dropping in limited colorways, material selections and quantities.

Earlier this month we showed you the mita x Asics Gel-Lyte Speed, and most of you liked it. While this round of limited releases doesn’t involve collaborations, it looks like the four-month run has some great designs in store. Starting in September, two pairs will drop–a Gel-Lyte Speed and GT II. Each month until December, a new colorway or two of varying models will release.

Asics GT-II “Yankee Doodle”

Asics GT-II

Last month, we showed you multiple, upcoming 2010 colorways of the Asics GT-II in which the majority of you thought were pretty nice. However, we have now spotted a special colorway of the Asics GT-II set to drop in October of this year.

This particular colorway, dubbed the “Yankee Doodle”, can be worn in hopes of representing your country to say the least. Its mesh and leather makeup owns a red, white and blue base combined with a sole of the same color scheme. To coincide with the color makeup, this shoe also red, white and blue nylon shoelaces. As stated earlier, check your local Asics retailers in October for this GT-II. Click here to view detailed photos.
