Both the gold/white/purple and black/silver/white colorways feature reptile skin-like material and premium leather on the uppers of this timeless basketball silhouette. A new addition to this updated version of the Weapon is a cupsole. Premium materials, reptile skin, in gold and silver is a great way to celebrate 100 years in the shoe game. Don’t you agree?

Converse has found gold while digging in the vault for throwbacks, gold and purple weapons that is. The Converse Weapon High will return in the original “Choose Your Weapon” colorways in spring of 2009.

The Weapon is one of the most recognizable basketball shoes in Converse history, due to the marketing campaign from the 80’s featuring the Bird vs Magic. The black and white, and purple, gold, and white colorways specifically, will take the basketball and sneakerhead OG’s back to those Celtics vs. Lakers days of old. After last years NBA finals, it’s a perfect fit to have these release in spring of next year, possibly just in time for another Laker/Celtics finals.

Anyways, the Converse Weapons in Black/White that Larry Bird wore, and the White/Purple/Yellow that Magic Johnson wore in those classic Converse commercials. We have some shots of the shoes, and that now famous commercial after the jump.
