DC Xander TX

Mike Shinoda x DC Shoes Xander

DC Shoes has used the Xander model in a number of collaborations with associates such as Mike Shinoda, Lemar and Dauley and Kendo Double Label. However, DC has chosen to let the Xander stand alone this time by introducing this Xander TX.

This sneaker definitely goes in the opposite direction of the subtle, gloomy shoe colorways we see during these seasons. The majority of the base is done up in neon yellow; yet, it contains minimal grey accents on the side panels and tongue. To coincide with the latter details, this Xander is finished with a grey sole. You can pick your pair up now at DC’s online store for $120.

SURU x DC Life Xander

SURU x DC Life Xander

Skate company DC has released a lot of great non-skate models out of their DC Life label as of late. For fall of 2009, they partnered with retailer SURU on this high top Xander sneaker, with a little help from a certain artist and musician.

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda, bandmate of SURU owner Joe Hahn, provided the original artwork for the sole, which is a nice touch for those who only catch a glimpse as the wearer passes by. Like most of the DC Life designs, including the complete Fall Collection we showed you not too long ago, this sneaker maintains a clean design in black and light blue, all over a white vulcanized sole. The SURU logo appears on both the side of the ankle and the tongue. Mike Shinoda’s participation is given its due credit on the tongue as well, making for a total of three logos in that spot. These are limited to 500 pairs, so make sure to get on them quick when they release this holiday season.

DC x Lemar and Dauley Xander Double Label Project

DC x Lemar and Dauley Xander Double Label Project

DC Shoes has a rich history of nice collaborations with Brooklyn clothing company Lemar & Dauley, namely the Admiral. On May 1st, both sides will be dropping their third collaboration in the form of theĀ  DC x Lemar and Dauley Xander.

This particular joint effort was inspired by the sport of tennis and the equipment used for the sport, namely the racket. The Xander uses a specific mesh material on the side panels and tongue in representation of the intertwined strings used within the racket. In addition, the clear sole is inspired by the nylon materials used to make the cords. Other features include leather trims around the edges reminding some of the leather taping around the racket and an abstracted graphic of the playing field pictured on the insoles. Both colorways will hit DC LIFE retailers on May 1st.
