The Gel Lyte Speed from Asics has been getting some shine this year with the collaboration banger from Patta earlier this year, but Asics is dropping some of their own like the “Mustard” colorway.

The shoe is very similar to the Gel Lyte III (like the Nice Kicks one!), but a little sleeker in areas like the toe box and incorporates a different sole. This colorway is certainly reminiscent of Ronald McDonald with the red/white/gold/black palette and the patent leather in the upper. Also, the ballistic mesh is a nice accent in the tongue to really give the shoe a rugged balance to the smoothness of the patent.

Asics has been growing new fans for their classic running silhouettes in recent years. In large part thanks to fresh colorways like these samples of the Asics GEL Lyte Speed unveiled by Ronnie Fieg.

The colorway that stands out the fastest is probably the Knicks colorway of the Gel Lyte Speed. The classic New York blue and orange works well on the lines of this silhouette. Not to overlook the additional colorways, which include a red, yellow and black combo, as well as a lime green and blue combo. No word on whether or not these will ever see release as of yet, but we’ll keep you updated.

Asics has been dropping some serious heat in recent months, especially with the recent “Runovation Pack” and a number of nice GEL Lyte III Colorways. Asics GEL Lyte Speed.

This time the limelight shines on two colorways of the Asics GEL Lyte Speed, which is a trimmed down version of its predecessor, the GEL Lyte III. The first colorway is done up in black and white. The second colorway is a mix of silver, blue and white. Both colorups feature a unique marbleized midsole and a well placed combination of leather and mesh.

We got a look at three dope colorways of the GEL Lyte Speed that will be this spring last month. The first of which is on its way to retailers now.

The first colorway to arrive will be the black, white and aqua colorway that you see here. It features all the standard features of theAsics GEL Lyte Speed, like GEL technology and the infamous split tongue, as well as an original colorway from the late 80’s/early 90’s. These are going to be released in somewhat limited numbers, an exact number is not available as of yet.

Look for these to hit your local dealer in the next week or so.

Check out the Asics 2009 Preview, there is a style for everyone, as well as a colorway for everyone as well. The split tongue Gel Lyte III, Gel Lyte Speed, GT Quick, and GT II all get a nice mix of colors. As always, Asics delivers creativity with not only the kicks and colorways, but multi-colored matching laces have also become a staple in their releases. Another feature you don’t see much of is the multi-color approach to the classic logo on some of these kicks. The black and teal, and the white, black, pink and blue colorways of the Gel Lyte Speed only skim the surface of some of the upcoming heat from Asics.
