Nike Air Griffey Max 1
Posted by George Kiel III | Oct 6, 2008 A couple of weeks ago we showed you the first catalog pictures of the Nike Air Griffey Max 1. While we patiently wait for its Summer 2009 release, we’ve found a clearer picture of the Varsity Royal/White-Black-Volt (shown after the jump) colorway.
This style will drop in June, while the original colorway (White/Black-Fresh Water-Varsity Red) will drop in April. To the surprise of many people, Ken Griffey Jr. has been wearing PE versions of the Air Griffey Max this season. Check out both colorways after the jump provided by Chajin Young. Last week we gave you the great news about the Air Max Griffey 1 releasing to the masses next year. Here is a look at the shoe that is available in cleat form for now from Nike. The Nike Air Swingman Remix is the celebration sneaker for the 20 years of MLB service from “Junior”. The Shoe blends both the Griffey Max 1 and 2 together which were the major players in the series. The Swingman remix for now is only available in cleat form but a trainer version is said to be in the works, let us hope the will come out soon.
When Ken Griffey Jr. was in his prime he was an awesome fielder, had a canon arm, was a smooth base runner, and a swing so perfect it earned him his nickname “Swingman.” Back when he first signed his Nike contract “Junior” got his own signature shoes and they were some of the best looking pieces of sole to be made for the Mariner bomber. Finally, after years of waiting, and major career accomplishments achieved, the Griffeys are coming back.
