House of Hoops Grand Opening in Maryland
Posted by Alex Kroviak | Oct 22, 2009
Just last week, Houston, Texas got its second House of Hoops location, and now Hyattsville, Maryland is getting one too. This Sunday, October 25th, the existing Foot Locker store in the Mall at Prince Georges will open an in-store HOH. Washington Wizard Caron Butler will be on hand from 2-4 PM, meeting and greeting. There is also slated to be some rare kicks on hand, though no exact release information has been given just yet. Given the Wizards’ on-going rivalry with the Cavaliers, don’t expect to see Caron shopping for the LeBron VII, even on its big release weekend. We’re sure Prince George locals Kevin Durant and Wale are happy about the news. Aren’t you? |
Houston’s House of Hoops Grand Opening Recap
Posted by Greg Grovey | Oct 19, 2009
The Foot Locker House of Hoops name rings bells in every sneaker lover’s ear. Everybody would love for their city to have a House of Hoops that they can call their own, but so far, only a few places have been able to see that dream become a reality. Houston, Texas has now seen that dream materialize with the grand opening of not one, but two House of Hoops locations. The first location (Galleria Mall), saw a packed and energetic grand opening event, which featured a Q&A section with Houston Rockets newly-acquired small forward Trevor Ariza. After that, Hip Hop legend Bun B was the master of ceremonies as he presented the Nike and Foot Locker outstanding player of the year awards to two of Houston’s top high school basketball players. The second location (Northline Mall) saw an equally-packed and up-beat event. However, this location featured a very informative Q&A from the Rockets point guard Aaron Brooks. After Aaron answered questions from the audience, he then added details about his on-court shoe for the 2009-2010 NBA season, the Nike Cradle Low. With that said, click here to see a few pics from the events. |

House of Hoops Headed to Europe
Posted by George Kiel III | Aug 3, 2009“Think Pink” Nike Hyperdunk
Posted by Nick Engvall | Jan 8, 2009 The month of February will see alot of pink, but Nike has a different type of love in mind. Nike has teamed up with Kay Yow Cancer Fund to release a series of Nike Pink Products to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. Releasing at all three House of Hoops locations will include special edition Nike Hyperdunks and other gear with all proceeds benefiting the cause.
Yow is the coach of NC State’s women’s basketball team and is currently on leave battling breast cancer for a third time. The gear available will include the two kicks, as well as the shirt and basketball seen, which features the Kay Yow Cancer Fund logo, (the pink NC State jersey will not be available). Kay is an inspiration for more than just her team, but to the entire NCAA women’s basketball program, as you will see a number of these pink shoes on the court when February rolls around. Check out the gear and both of the kicks after the break thanks to Foot Locker. |
LA House Of Hoops PEs: Chris Paul and Richard Hamilton
Posted by George Kiel III | Dec 17, 2008|
Since its grand opening in October, LA House of Hoops has been showcasing some very nice PEs from players such as Kobe Bryant, Tony Parker and Derek Fisher. Recently, these two Jordan PEs were also spotted at the Los Angeles hot spot. Featuring the New Orleans Hornets colorway, the Air Jordan 2.5 (left) was obviously created for none other than Chris Paul. Throughout our Kicks On Court, we have seen ‘CP’ hoop in some nice PEs. Therefore, this Air Jordan 2.5 fits right in. Paul’s nickname, ‘CP3′, is imprinted on the ankle area of the sneaker. Richard Hamilton’s Jordan Jumpman Team Pro PE is the other recent LA House of Hoops release. Inspired by the Detroit Pistons jerseys, this sneaker has been on Hamilton’s foot for the majority of the season. The words, ‘Rip City’ are imprinted on the side of the sneaker in red. More pics after the jump including photos of both Paul and Hamilton hooping in their respective PEs. Via kenlu. |
