Kicks on Court - October 13, 2008

Kicks on Court - October 13, 2008Is Adidas really the sole licensing holder of the NBA? Ever since the Adidas news surfaced, many Nike basketball creations have surfaced to everybody’s liking. One sneaker that has been getting rave reviews is the Nike Hyperdunk. Recently, at the first NBA basketball game held outdoors in Indian Wells, California, more than half of the players were seen wearing Nike Hyperdunks. Players such as Raja Bell, Boris Diaw, and Ruben Patterson were seen ballin’ in them.

Who knows how much traction they had out there with the cool desert air circulating throughout the hardwood! Matter of fact many of the players complained about court traction and chilly weather. Shaq was quoted as saying, “It was colder than a mother—— out there. And you can quote me on that.”

As basketball season approaches, it is safe to say the Nike Hyperdunk is now the face of basketball.

Garnett: NBA 2k9 Cover more special than Signature Shoes

NBA 2K9 Garnett

Wouldn’t it be nice to play in the NBA and have your own signature sneaker? Kevin Garnett thinks it’s pretty cool, but his most recent accomplishment brings him more joy than any shoe deal (no…not the championship trophy). To everybody’s surprise, Garnett said in a recent interview with Das Gamer that his recent appearance on the NBA 2K9 game cover outweighs any sneaker deal! Huh? Maybe he was just a little too excited at the time.

Sure, gracing a video game cover is a great achievement, but what about the decade of great shoes he has worn from 3 different brands? I guess Anything Is Possible!

Click here to check showcase after the jump of the top ten sneakers Garnett has worn in the League.

Adidas Metro Attitude NBA

adidas Metro Attitude NBA Knicks Celtics

This fall Adidas is releasing NBA licensed makeups on the iconic Metro Attitude. Two years ago we saw the NBA Superstars and last year on the Campus, but dare we say the third time was the charm? A handful of team editions will be made including ones for the World Champs, Boston Celtics, and the New York Knicks. The release of these could not come at a better time with Patrick Ewing having just been inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

David Z was treated with both the Celtics and Knicks versions of the Metro Attitudes two months before they arrive to other retailers. Priced at $85 per pair, don’t expect these to be there very long.
