New Balance 577

New Balance 577

New Balance’s classic 577 isn’t going anywhere. At 20 years old, the silhouette may be rather old by sneaker standards, but it’s never gone out of style. For nest Spring and Summer, more 577s will drop, including these two we previewed a few months ago.

Both pairs feature white off-white nubuck and suede throughout. Tan mesh and suede are used on the uppers and toe areas. As of yet, maroon and olive green colorways will release, with snakeskin print on the mid-panels. Both also sit on white midsole, which match the heel and toe accent panels, and black outsoles.

Overkill x New Balance 577 “Berlin Wall Pack”

Overkill x New Balance 577 "Berlin Wall Pack"

When the Berlin Wall came down, David Hasselhoff was on hand to celebrate the occasion. Be thankful that he won’t be on hand to welcome this Overkill x New Balance pack that celebrates the 20 year anniversary of the historic moment. Don’t let the simple makeup of these three pairs fool you, there is a lot of history behind them.

The red pair’s inspiration comes from the USSR flag and the “Red” Russian influence, while the Black represents the Berlin bear mascot and blue for the United States’ flag and influence. The insoles are all printed with different iconic images from the era in black and white. Oddly enough these bare the British flag on their tongues, as they were constructed at New Balance’s UK factory.

The pack will release on December 16th at Overkill Berlin, with only 577 of each pair available in all.

New Balance 577 Spring 2010 Preview

New Balance 577 Spring 2010 Preview

New Balance has some classic running silhouettes, the 577 is definitely one that falls into that category. The 577 originated in the late 80’s, and has since seen a resurgence since the turn of the century.

The New Balance 577 will return in at least two colorways for the Spring of 2010. Aside from the tried and true combination of suede and mesh, the mid panel of each of these upcoming colorways is wrapped in a snake skin-like finish. Comfort in the 577 silhouette can be attributed to ENCAP cushioning.

LFSTL X New Balance 577 Cockroach Update

LFSTL New Balance 577 Cockroach

If the city of Rotterdam was condensed into a shoe, what would it look like? LFSTL (”lifestyle”) a shop in Rotterdam, Netherlands answers that question. The LFSTL X New Balance 577 “Cockroach” was dreamed up by Arnie and the team at LFSTL. Inspired by their home town, the colors on this drop share the colors of the city. The grey, black, and white are a common sight in the structures of the city since it has essentially been rebuilt since WWII. Petrol (blue) represents the harbor and the river that splits the city down the middle. Purple represents the innovation and open mindedness in Rotterdam’s future. Check the pictures after the jump to see what their creative minds came up with, to rep their home town. This shoe will release this October 25th at LFSTL. Info via LFSTL.
