DQM x Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache

At the beginning of October, we notified you of this DQM x Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache releasing at various retailers overseas. However, we are now spotting it at U.S. retailers, namely Proper.

This particular Air Max 90 Current Huarache is very similar to the first one that collaborated on (seen here). It possesses a mostly dark brown base with multiple sections of beige (inner lining, collar area, toe area). It also contains various red and pink accents throughout the base. Is this Air Max 90 Current Huarache better than the first pair that released?

DQM x Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache #2

We’ve seen Dave’s Quality Meat’s last AM90 effort, but now the updated version has surfaced, with some changes having been made.

The main difference comes in the color change of the upper toe panel, tongue and heel Huarache section to red from brown. The insole has also been changed from cow print to solid light pink. These have been available for pre-order for some time, with a drop planned for October 19th. It looks like these will be the version available for sale.

How do these compare to the first versions? Were the changes for the better? Head to the comments section and let us know.

DQM x Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache

DQM x Nike Air Max Current HuaracheGoing forth with the Nike “East vs. West” battles of late, New York retailer Dave’s Quality Meats designed this Air Max Current Huarache as part of a matchup with the Huf Current Huarache we showed you last week.

Using a signature brown, tan and light-pink colorway, this Nike pays tribute to DQM’s namesake. For those of you unaware, the Current Huarache line of Air Max 90s uses a FREE forefoot in conjunction with the standard Air Max heel, as well as a few other small differences, like the Huarache heel strap. On the neoprene tongue, DQM makes it clear which coast they’re representing, just to clear up any confusion. These meaty Nikes are set to release October 1.

So does this bacon-inspired collaboration sit well with you, or leave you hungry for more?

HUF x Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache QS

HUF x Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache QS

Releasing as a quickstrike on October 1, these HUF-designed Nikes are sure to garner lots of attention.

The main design feature is the exclusive Hufquake pattern in white and black, while the top of the toe and collar lining are draped in black. This isn’t HUF’s first time around the block with an Air Max, so you should recognize this print. Blue accents break up the black and white design, appearing on the toe and rear huarache elements. The white sole features the standard bubble unit in the heel, and brings the color set full-circle.

Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache

The early 90’s brought countless running classics from many brands. Nike had many, two of which, are combined in the newest hybrid.

This red and white colorway of the Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache will hit retailers early next month. Most of you seem to feel this hybrid is taking away from the classic Air Huarache and Air Max 90. However, with the recent success of the Maxim 1, maybe some of you will reconsider? Especially since the Maxim 1, initially, received the same negative feedback.

Let us know if you’ll be picking up these by clicking here.

Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache Hybrid

Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache HybridNike continues to hybridize just about every shoe they have ever released, retrofitting new technology into classic silhouettes. We’ve recently seen the Air Force 1 get a Huarache treatment, and the running classic Cortez brought current with Flywire technology.

The latest hybrid sneaker is the Air Max 90 Current Huarache. Taking the silhouette of the Air Max 90, Nike has infused the heel area and tongue tag of the Nike Huarache running shoe. Technology is brought up to date with the Nike Free technology found in the Air Max 90 Current releases. The colorway is a simple black, grey and white that should find a place easily in your collection.

Look for these to hit Nike retailers in early 2009.
