Nike Air Max 95 Obsidian

Nike Air Max 95 Obsidian

No doubt about it, the Nike Air Max 95 is a classic. We’ve seen a ton of hot colorways since its original release, and even saw one yesterday with some wild orange graphics. This pair, like yesterday’s, is a JD Sports exclusive and features far more subtle styling cues and the traditional 95 layered gradient upper.

Working its way up from the black midsole, colors go from obsidian to navy blue to white. That midsole features full-length Air Max technology, of course. Under the top layer of mesh are navy blue cloth lace holders. Breaking up the color scheme on the tongue is the traditional oval logo in gold embroidery.

How do these compare to other Air Max 95s we’ve seen? Better than the Volt/Dark Grey pair we saw not too long ago? Do they stack up against this “Photo Blue” color-up?

Nike Air Max 95 Volt/Dark Grey

Nike Air Max 98 Volt/Dark Grey

The Air Max 95 has long been a staple in the Air Max line, resurging stronger than ever as of late. Exclusive to UK retailer JD Sports are these Air Max 95’s in a Volt/Dark Grey colorway.

Like with many 95’s, this pair sports a layered grey design, cascading from black at the base to light grey, and then back to a darker grey, before a volt yellow breaks up the scheme. These are made completely of synthetic materials and textiles, so if you’re an animal lover, you can feel comfortable knowing no animals were harmed making these. You’re going to have to ship them from across the pond, but is that enough to keep you from these Air Max’s?

Nike Air Max 95 “Chili” / “Sport Red”

Nike Air Max 95 Chili Sport RedAlright, it wouldn’t be a good retro release if there wasn’t a little bit of some feelings about what the proper name of this shoe is.  While heads may know this colorway as the Nike Air Max 95 “Chili Red” or simply nicknamed the “Chili’s”, the official color on the box of the 2009 bring back is “Sport Red.”

Not much needs to be said about this shoe or this colorway.  Look for these to start popping up nationwide at Nike retailers including Proper in Long Beach, CA.

Nike Air Max 95

The Nike Air Max 95 has came back in various, classic colorways this year including the “Mint”, “Team Orange”, “Neon” and “Fresh Water”. It is undeniably hard to follow such releases as those, however, the Nike Air Max 95 “Sport Red” is legendary enough to do so.

Similar to the previously mentioned classic Air Max 95 colorways, this shoe also possesses the grey fade design throughout the entire base. Its sport red colored details from the midfoot area all the way down to the visible Air sole unit gives this shoe a nice contrasting look to it. The Nike Air Max 95 “Sport Red” will be available in stores next week. Click here to view additional photos.
