Nike Air Carnivore Retro

Nike Air Carnivore Retro

It’s been 16 years since the Nike Air Carnivore first dropped. And while the wild style and super high ankle strap may have irked some, two colorways are up for a retro release next summer.

We featured this unique lace-less trainer last year on Throwback Thursday, and they received a lot of love and support for a retro release. By summer 2010, it will have taken almost two years for your calls to have been answered, but whether it was the crazy colors, the Durabuck synthetic panels, or the Neoprone construction that allowed an unprecedented amount of breathability that got you hooked, next summer should be a good one for fans of this design.

Are you excited about this retro, or is this one design you just can’t get behind?

Nike SB Verona Slip-On

Nike SB Verona Slip-OnJust in time for Summer, well maybe in other parts of the world, but not here. The recent mornings have been a little cold for slip-on’s but the Nike SB Verona Slip-On’s will be available at Babekub City November 29th.

The Verona model has been on the backburner at Nike SB for a while now, but this waterproof version is trying to bring it back into the light. Like most slip-ons, it features a simple silhouette. These will be available at select Nike Skateboarding retailers worldwide, hit your local dealer for more info.

Nike Air Structure Triax 91 “Berry”

Nike Air Structure Triax 91 Purple BerryNike running in the early 90’s brought major heat to the shoe game. The Nike Air Structure Triax 91 is one of those originals a lot of us have been waiting for. You can see the styling cues from other shoes from that era. The Air Structure Triax 91 is like a combination of the Air Max 90, the Air Stab, and the Air Max 180. Which should tell you these will be popular.

The white/varsity purple/berry colorway is a holiday 2008 release. We’ve been anticipating this arrival since back in May. The wait is finally over, as they have began popping up on eBay recently. Which usually means they will hit retailers very soon.

Nike Air Flight Lite High “Bulls”

Nike Air Flight Lite High BullsBack in 90-91, the Air Jordan 6 carries one characteristic from the Jordan 5 that gave MJ great traction on the court - the icy, clear sole. Jordan wasn’t the only on on the Bulls with a clear sole for the 1990-91 season, sidekick Scottie wore the Nike Air Flight Lite.

Nike is bringing that icy sole back to us again in November, in the classic Chicago Bulls colorway. The Nike Air Flight Lite High is a classic that should not be overlooked. After all, this shoe helped start the Bulls run of greatness, and inspired Nike to bring us the Pippen signature line, not too long after. Take a closer look at this upcoming release after the jump.

They will be available in November for $110 at your local Nike retailer.

Nike Air Penny II

Nike Air Penny II RetroAfter twelve years of sitting on the sidelines and closets, the Nike Air Penny II is back in the game. The first colorway, Black/Varsity Royal-White, has started hitting doors ahead of its October launch with a nationwide release at Foot Locker doors of September 27th. Coming the following month in November is the White based colorway that Penny Hardaway wore in 1997 NBA All-Star Game.

Along with the original colors, the Nike Air Penny II retros sport an original box price of $140. Heel and forefoot Air as well as a midfoot carbon fiber shank, these are as ready for the court as they were more than a decade ago.

Like the Air Jordan line, the Penny series had one of the most creative advertising campaigns put together by none other than Weiden + Kennedy. Lil Penny, the half-pint, trash-talking sidekick appeared in a series of commercials and print ads that promoted the Penny line including the Nike Air Penny II. Rewind 12 years and check out these videos after the jump as well as detailed shots of both of the retro Penny IIs due out this fall.

Nike Zoom FP “Fun Police”

Nike Zoom FP Fun Police

A decade ago, Nike Basketball launched a campaign of print and television ads to promote their headlining athletes where the group of superstars assembled the “Fun Police.” Their mission: to bring fun back to the game of basketball. Some of these commercials did cause a little bit of controversy for taking shots at NBA officials, but some of the 60 second spots earned awards in the advertising world (just a few more trophies for W+K).

Next summer, Nike will bring back memories of the Fun Police by way of the Nike Zoom FP that takes design inspiration from the Zoom Flight V (Jason Kidd), Air Garnett III (Kevin Garnett), and Zoom Flight T Bug (Tim Hardaway). Much like the Sharkley from this year, the shoes are a mixture of Nike classics, but are still court ready with Zoom Air heel cushioning. Something a bit interesting (and ironic) is that two of the three shoes represented in the shoe were signature shoes for athletes who have left Nike (Kidd & Garnett).

Look for these next May for $88. Pics and info from Fear23 of NikeTalk.

The original colors, orange/silver/black, have not been spotted recently but the jet black with dashes of yellow on the heel and swoosh make this Nike Air Terra Humara the best showing since they were released. A favorite in the ’90s, the Nike Air Humara Terra has the 3M accent and airbags, combined with the mesh texture and felt, making this sneaker very appealing to the eye.
