Nike Trainer 1 Chien-Ming Wang PE

Nike Trainer 1 Chien-Ming Wang PE

It’s good to be a Yankee. Coming of the franchise’s 27th World Series championships, Nike has already dedicated a Trainer 1 to the legacy of the team, which we saw in detail here. That wasn’t enough for Chien-Ming Wang though, as the Taiwanese pitcher has received his own PE different from the team’s.

Unlike the team PE, these feature a white and silver upper, with pinstripes on the heel panel. The forefoot lace loops use non-Yankee colors, appearing in royal blue, yellow and red. On the heel panel, where the Trainer 1 usually reads “Nike,” and the Yankee PE displayed “New York,” a Taiwanese character has been created out of a mid-pitch silhouette of Wang.

Nike Trainer 1 "L.A." Online Now

The Los Angeles Dodgers may have come up short on their goal this past season, but they did enough to earn a tribute from Nike in these Trainer 1s. We first took a look at these not too far back, announcing they were available in select stores.

But for fans who are displaced from L.A. or just can’t find them in stores near you, NikeStore.com now has these in a full-size run. If you recall, white leather is used on the toe cap and heel, accented with royal blue contrast stitching. Blue suede really makes these what they are, as it’s used on the mid-panel and toe box. Nike Trainer 1 Troy Polamalu & Larry Fitzgerald PEs

Nike Trainer 1 Troy Polamalu & Larry Fitzgerald PEs

You thought that Nike was going to make PEs for the NFL’s elite and leave out the two most dangerous players in the league? Leaving Larry “Fitz” Fitzgerald open anywhere on the field is a danger to your team. Crossing Troy Polamalu is just a danger to your health. Add these in with the Adrian Peterson PEs we saw some time ago, and it looks like the complete arsenal for Nike–land, air and D.

Fitz’s feature a red and white upper with the standard red Free and Air sole. Silver is also used on the midfoot and toe, and his number 11 appears near the heel. Just like Fitz himself, these PEs are understated and plain by receiver standards, but we all know about looks being deceiving. The Polamalu PEs feature the Steelers’ gold and black, as well as white. “Nike” appears in stencil lettering on the heels, adding to the blue collar work ethic of the city of Pittsburgh and their team. Both pairs are currently available on Nike.com.

Are these some of your favorite Trainer 1s?

White leather is used on the toe cap and heel, accented with royal blue contrast stitching. Blue suede really makes these what they are, as it’s used on the Flywire-like mid-panel and toe box. Slight red accents are also used on the lace loops, similar to the red numbers on Los Angeles’ jersey. The real tribute comes in the insole design, which feature a two-tone checkerboard pattern and, similar to the New York Trainer 1, the retired jersey numbers of Brooklyn and L.A. Dodgers legends.
