Nike Air 1/2 Cent
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Jan 5, 2009 Nike has pumped out nearly as many hybrids as Toyota the past few years, but the next to roll out stands ahead of the rest of the pack. The Nike Air 1/2 Cent is a mashup of five sneakers worn by Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway including the Air Penny, Air Penny II, Air Penny III, Air Penny IV, and of course the Air Foamposite.
Like Jordan Brand paid tribute to Spike Lee, Nike pays tribute to Penny’s sidekick Li’l Penny with the name “1/2 Cent” (his jersey number) as well as his face on the heel of the shoe. The Nike 1/2 Cent will debut in March in a limited release in Black/Royal as well as an all black colorup for a price of $190. Check the better detailed shots after the break from chajinyoung. |

Lately Nike has been using classic colors from one model and transferring them to another great making something memorable. Up to the plate next year is the Nike Air Foamposite that borrows its look from the “Eggplant” Nike Air Flightposite. Another feature of this pair that created instant internet buzz was the return of the clear sole to the sneaker. Some of you may remember the Nike Air Foamposite that was supposed to have translucent lime green soles, but the final retail version came with a disappointing solid rubber bottom.
