Pony has unleashed four new high-tops for this season dubbed the “Collegiate Pack.” Add these to the long list of examples that Pony has given us that they’re still very capable of giving us clean and wearable designs year after year.

In this pack are four pairs in a mix of dark colors, with the exception of the bright red shoes, which feature a black Pony logo along the side. The grey color-up also gets a black logo design, while the black and navy blue colorways feature white designs, matching their laces and sole. All four pairs use canvas uppers with leather accents and trim along the eyestays and bottom edge of the uppers.

In an effort to settle back to their roots, PONY (Product of New York) has opened a store in New York. If you recall, New York is the city where the company was founded in 1972. The PONY x MADE IN BROOKLYN store recently opened its doors on September 5th. New York celebrities made appearances at the opening including DMC, Kaves from Lordz of Brooklyn, Lee Qiunones, and NY Knicks forward Wilson Chandler. While at this store, one is able to perform a gamut of activities from purchasing the latest PONY gear to getting some new ink. In addition, one is able to head into the street for some stickball.

Beyond maintaining an enviable atmosphere as their status quo, the PONY x MADE IN BROOKLYN shop plans to host many more events in the future. If you’re a native BKer or happen to be visiting NYC, stop and check them out on 93^rd St. between 3^rd and 4^th Ave.

On September 9th, Focus Features will release the film “9″ at theaters across the States. In addition, they have teamed up with Pony for a new makeup of the Feed the Cat silhouette to coincide with the film’s release.

The Pony Feed the Cat “9″ edition is inspired by burlap covered robots from the upcoming film called “stitchpunks.” Actors Martin Landau, Elijah Wood and Jennifer Connelly, are a few that lend their voices to the characters. Only 99 pairs of these kicks will be available and distributed through an online sweepstakes to be conducted with the retailer Hot Topic. We will be on the lookout for more information as it becomes available.

In the spring time, Pony teamed up with NEFF to create multiple models; however, this fall, Pony will step into the limelight by themselves by introducing a new model dubbed the Pony FTC Mid Strapped.

The FTC Mid Strapped uses a rare, synthetic wind-breaker-like texture/canvas texture on the upper. It also features a strap across the top of the base and metallic silver laceholders. As for the colorway, it possesses a predominately Black/Red color scheme mixed with a white rubber sole. The Pony FTC Mid Strapped will be available at select retailers on September 1st for $60.

The Rasa Libre Skateboards x Pony Footwear Collection includes three silhouettes launching in August. Two low top silhouettes and a high top as well. Two of which feature natural colors, with hemp-like makeups. A third colorway is done in back and orange to stay true to the company’s hometown of San Francisco.

PONY continues to make strides in the right direction with their ongoing work between the brand and NEFF.  While PONY and NEFF have projects that are sold exclusively to action sports outlets, the two came together on the PONY Signature in some simple, yet noteworthy tone on tone colorways.

Since the relaunch of the brand a little more than a year ago, PONY has been making major strides in a marketplace that is full of fierce competition.  This summer, PONY brings a casual silhouette, Feed the Cat, in a number of colors and interesting fabrics.  Two that stuck out to us were a Hemp as well as a Herringbone make up of the clean model.

PONY went with a classic tan perforated suede for the toe and tongue to compliment the hemp upper.  A slight touch of white patent leather compliments the white glossy eyelets and subtle white stitching that outlines the company’s chevron logo.  One of the nicest details of this pair was the seersucker lining that ties together the white and tan.  The second pair (posted after the break) features a soft grey suede, charcoal, herringbone fabric, and faux snakeskin.
