Vans Vault Era Piping

Vans Vault Era Piping

Vans Vault gave the Era silhouette a minimal upgrade to create the Era Piping. These classics are covered in black suede. The white piping provides curvaceous trails across the upper thereby accentuating the sneaker’s assembly. Also, the piping provides a more gradual segue for the white/black/white contrast starting with the vulcanized sole up through the upper and down into the inner lining.

These aren’t neckbreakers but the Era boasts its own self-assurance as an American classic since 1976. The Vans Vault Era Piping is now available at Bows & Arrows.

Robert Williams x DQM x Vans Vault Era

Robert Williams x DQM x Vans Vault Era

Not too long ago we got a look at artist Robert Williams’ work with Dave’s Quality Meat and Vans Vault on a pair of Eras. The video we saw not only involved Williams’ hand-texturizing of the shoe canvas, but also the process by which the shoe materials were personally delivered to China for assembly.

Now we have a closer look at the shoes the three groups came together to create. Rather than try snag a sneak peek through the video, we can now clearly see the details Williams painted, including the toe design he touched up by hand. The angels over yellow contrast against the carolina blue portion near the collar and laces, and Robert’s shorthand signature appears on the vulcanized sole. We also get a good look at the special box created for this release.

With only 13 created, it won’t be easy to get your hands on a pair, but they release Halloween morning at DQM. Click here for more pics.

Robert Williams x DQM x Vans Vault Era

Robert Williams x DQM x Vans Vault Era Video

Robert Williams may not ring a bell right away, but his artwork has filled galleries for decades. And to coincide with upcoming gallery show at the Tony Shafrazi Gallery in New York City on October 31, he’s paired with DQM and Vans Vault on a very limited run of Eras. The video follows Williams’ creative process on this sneaker, which involves going way further than designing a color palette and throwing his logo on it.

The 13-pair run will release on Halloween, the same day as the art show, only at Dave’s Quality Meat. All 13 are numbered 1-13 and autographed by the artist. From the video we learn the construction process of Vans as well, which includes some special attention being paid to the quality of the craftsmanship and detail in a way we rarely see.

Airblaster x Vans Era "Stay Wild"

Airblaster snowboarding has paired up with Vans for this special Era for the Winter months. While the Era would traditionally be done in a simple canvas, this particular collaboration is designed to keep your feet dry in any weather.

The outside of the upper is made of a waterproof material in brown, with a bright blue liner for contrast. Four of the eyelets are white while the top is bright pink. The Airblaster logo also appears on a special tag along the upper’s side. These are available now at most Vans snowboarding dealers.

Vans Classics for Fall

Vans Classics for Fall

We’ve covered the latest Vans, including the new Switchback, but keeping with the classics, a new group classic Vans silhouettes has hit the market, including Authentics, Eras and 106s.

The Authentics are dropping in two super bright shades and one in a grey and black wool which use a two-color vulcanized sole. Black rubber is used on the tip of the toe for added protection. A grey/grey Era is out in all suede, similar to the Chukka seen with the above Switchback. The third shoe in the set, the 106, is also out in two news colorways–royal blue and red, both on the traditional white vulcanized sole with matching pinstripe. Will Vans ever go out of style?
