LIVESTRONG x Nike Zoom Kobe IV

LIVESTRONG x Nike Zoom Kobe IV

We recently saw the LIVESTRONG version of the LeBron Soldier III, so it is only fitting that we now see the Zoom Kobe IV receive the LIVESTRONG makeover.

The LIVESTRONG x Nike Zoom Kobe IV features the same all yellow makeup as the Soldier III, however maybe due to the familiarity of the yellow on the Kobe IV, the color seems to fit more appropriately. A majority of the upper is done up in patent materials, which only adds to the boldness of these shoes. No information on whether these will ever hit retailers, but we’ll be on the lookout.

Nike Zoom Kobe IV “Finals Edition” Away

Nike Zoom Kobe IV Finals Edition AwayLast night we saw Kobe unveil an additional new colorway of the Zoom Kobe IV. We saw the Nike Zoom Kobe IV Finals Edition Home colorway at the start of the finals and now the away colorup has been seen.

This Nike Zoom Kobe IV Finals Edition Away colorway is graced with the same commemorative graphics celebrating Kobe’s road to the championship. The “away” colorway is done in primarily black, with accents of purple and gold. These shoes will look nice next to the trophy as it’s presented to the Lakers Sunday night, but I’m sure Los Angeles and Orlando fans alike, wouldn’t mind seeing that home colorway hit the court just one more time.

Nike Zoom Kobe IV Gold Mamba

Nike Zoom Kobe IV Gold MambaThe Nike Zoom Kobe IV is one of the most ground breaking shoes in years. Kobe has been seen in a number of colorways throughout the season in our Kicks On Court.

The Nike Zoom Kobe IV “Gold Mamba” colorway was created for Kobe to wear on Martin Luther King Jr day. The colorway features a fresh fade of purple to white around the toebox and enough gold to make investors jealous. No release date is set in stone, but we’ll keep on the grind and let you know when we get more info.

Nike Zoom Kobe IV Rice “Away”

Nike Zoom Kobe IV Rice Away

The Zoom Kobe IV is one of the most innovative basketball shoes in recent years (see our Performance Review). We’ve seen quite a few colorways but one that has become a favorite amongst Kobe fans is the Rice High School colorway.

The Nike Zoom Kobe IV Rice “Away” make-up is done up in black and green with yellow accents. Kobe and Nike have sponsored the Manhattan school with player exclusive colorways for a few years, and this year you can get your hands on these fresh kicks.

These are set to drop at House of Hoops locations this weekend, but if you’re not near an HOH location, you can cop them now on eBay users like i-kix.

Nike Zoom Kobe IV Performance Review

Nike Zoom Kobe IV Performance ReviewMuch hype and anticipation has surrounded the Nike Zoom Kobe IV since its public debut.  The fourth signature shoe by Nike for Kobe turned many heads and raised many brows with a low cut silhouette.

Don’t basketball shoes have to be a high top?  This was a question we were wondering - especially for a top caliber player with ankle injuries in the past.  In a few interviews Kobe also talked extensively about how lightweight the Zoom Kobe IV is and that it will allow you to jump higher.  All the buzz aside, we had to put this shoe to the test.

To do this test properly we called upon two of our staff writers who know a thing or two about shoes.  Nick Engvall has 5 years of footwear testing under his belt for a couple athletic companies putting their upcoming basketball shoes through the grind.  How do the Kobe’s compare to the countless shoes he has tested?  George Kiel III, our other tester, played point guard in Division I basketball for Texas St.  He himself never played in lows, what did he think of the Kobe IV’s?

Check out more detailed shots of the Nike Zoom Kobe IV after the break as well as the performance reviews and score cards on following pages.
