Big K.R.I.T.'s Returnof4eva

Nice Kicks: Do you have a favorite track off Returnof4eva?

Big K.R.I.T.: Definitely, the “Country Shit” remix (with Ludacris and Bun B). To have two legends from the South is amazing. “The Vent” is a very personal song. I’m glad I can put that type of material on my CD just to let people know I go through situations that they go through and they can relate. Definitely “Made A Lot of Cheese” with my partner Big Sant, “Sookie Now” with David Banner, “Shake It” with Joi, and Raheem Devaughn murdered “Player’s Anthem”. (Also) “Time Machine” with Chamillionaire.

Nice Kicks: Awhile back,? you said Bun B was one of your dream artists to work with, who’s next on that list?

Big K.R.I.T.: Definitely, Andre 3000 and Big Boi. To be able to work with Cee-Lo Green, to do a song with Scarface, to do a whole project with 8 Ball and MJG would be dope; just to produce not even on some rap stuff. To be able to work with Coldplay or One Republic. (There’s) a lot of other artists that I definitely want to have the opportunity to work with. It’ll take some time, but Lord willing, I get around them and we can be creative and make something happen.

Nice Kicks: Is there an MC you’d really like to give a beat?

Big K.R.I.T.: Again, Andre 3000. If Andre 3000 rapped on one of my beats, that’d be amazing. That’d be crazy.

I’m not gonna stop being country just because I got a deal, I’m always gonna be southern.

Nice Kicks: Conversely, are there any producers you wish would give you a track?

Big K.R.I.T.: Aw man. 9th Wonder, DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Andre 3000, (David) Banner- waiting on a track from (him) too. DJ Toomp is crazy…Kanye West! And (also) Timbaland.

Nice Kicks: Before the show 9th Wonder was praising your album on Twitter.

Big K.R.I.T.: That’s my big homie right there! He definitely has a lot of positive information every time I meet him on how to handle the game and stay humble. When you’re dealing with somebody that’s been through a lot and understands music and is an OG, I just feel honored to be in a situation where I can call him.

Nice Kicks: How has life changed between K.R.I.T. Wuz Here and Returnof4eva?

Big K.R.I.T.: It’s amazing. My Twitter is jumping again when people see that I’m going to be consistent and drop a whole project. I don’t mind giving the music away for free. I’m just gonna make music and I pray that they can grow along with me on my journey. I’m not gonna stop being country just because I got a deal. I’m always gonna be southern.

Big thanks to K.R.I.T., Wally Sparks, Big Sant, Complete Clothing, and ScoreMore. Make sure to download Returnof4eva at ReturnOf4eva.com.
