Kobe Bryant and Nike Select Nick Young to Debut the Kobe 9 Elite
The days of a signature athlete debuting a shoe without notification or a press release are almost gone. In fact, the days of signature athletes debuting their own, latest shoe seems fewer and farther between. Because of Kobe Bryant’s injury-riddled season, Lakers guard Nick Young was given the honor and opportunity to be the first player to wear the Nike Kobe 9 Elite on court. Players and fans pay attention to Young’s footwear faithfully. Therefore, it was a genius and defining moment to see Kobe’s new shoe garner the attention it did without Bryant’s co-sign on the hardwood. This may even be the start of something new in regards to The Black Mamba’s line. Who debuts future Nike Kobes on court when Bryant retires?
