This past weekend the best of the best flocked to Chicago as the city hosted its first ever WNBA All-Star Weekend. As the star-studded event kicked off, adidas Basketball dedicated the weekend to highlighting their WNBA athletes.
adidas has been a longtime advocate for uplifting women in sports and went all out to celebrate their superstar roster. The weekend included everything from 1-on-1 styling sessions, a skyline yacht party, and even a sneak peak at the upcoming Candace Parker Collection.
As soon as the ladies touched down in the Windy City, they were taken to the adidas Styling Suite curated by Bukunmi Grace. From head-to-toe, the adidas Basketball athletes got decked out in Ivy Park, Yeezy, Y-3, and even the Gucci x adidas Collection. From there, All-Stars Candace Parker, Nneka Ogwumike, and Kahleah Copper headed to the WNBA Orange Carpet alongside attending athletes Erica Wheeler, Ruthy Hebard, Julie Allemand, Betnijah Laney, and Sami Whitcomb.
After the Orange Carpet, Team Three-Stripes sailed into the night as adidas arranged a private yacht party that toured Chicago’s iconic skyline. The exclusive soiree was reserved for the adidas Basketball roster and their closest friends and family. The entire party got comfy in adidas Adilette Slides and danced the night away.
The next day all of the adidas Basketball fam came together to celebrate the unveiling of the adidas x Candace Parker Collection Part II. An overview of the upcoming collection revealed that new colorways of the adidas Exhibit B by Candace Parker are to be expected shortly. The line of sneakers will be accompanied by an Ace apparel collection that includes shorts, tees, jackets, and more.
The good vibes kept coming as Candace Parker threw a private party to celebrate her second collection with adidas. Ace took over Cindy’s Rooftop and went all the way up with her family, friends, and celebs in attendance. Everyone in the room cheered on Candace as she celebrated her fifth All-Star Game appearance. Guests were treated with divine hors d’oeuvres and an ever-flowing well of signature cocktails. The rooftop was transformed into an immersive experience presented by Meta, that casted lavender hues onto crystallized basketballs and chandelier hoops.
The weekend closed out with a bang as the WNBA All-Star Game packed out the Wintrust Arena in Chicago. The All-Star teams were led by captains A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart. Candace Parker appeared on Team Wilson, and Kahleah Copper and Nneka Ogwumike played on Team Stewart. The entire arena erupted as the All-Stars battled it out on the hardwood in front of WNBA fans from all over the country. With less than two minutes left in the game, Candace Parker managed to bank a four-pointer, putting the final score at 134-112, with Team Wilson taking home the W. During the game Candace was seen wearing the adidas Exhibit B “Lailaa,” one of the new colorways from her upcoming collection.
The WNBA regular season continues from here on out and wraps up in September. The Chicago Sky and Las Vegas Aces are leading the league, with the Seattle Storm following close behind. The Chicago Sky is the defending champion for the WNBA title, with the team razor-focused on securing a consecutive win.
