Why it could?ve made the list: Of all the debut signatures, the Nike Air Penny may serve as the best preview of what was to follow. Between Penny?s play and the Chris Rock commercials, the shoe was a smash and spawned one of the greatest lines in sneaker history.
Why it didn?t: The mid-90s were a great era for sneakers– perhaps the best. With that said, brand contemporaries like the CB 94, Griffey Max 1, and Anfernee?s own Foamposite One edge the original Penny out of the top 20.
