Why it could?ve made the list: Michael Jordan wrapped up his first three-peat in the Air Jordan 8. The shoe also introduced straps to the AJ line and its cosmic cartoon campaign perhaps paved the way for Space Jam. To this day, MJ?s eighth signature still receives love through retro releases.
Why it didn?t: Compared to the other AJs that made the list, the Air Jordan 8 brought less in regard to innovation. A distinctly 90s look makes it standout in the line, but also makes it blend in with its year-of Nike peers (Air Force High & Mid, Air Raid I & II) more than any other season’s Air Jordan.
