Business has been booming for Yeezy over the past few months as we’ve seen drops featuring new silhouettes and classic fan favorites. Fresh off the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “MX Oat” release, it appears that Kanye and the Yeezy team may be in some trouble.

Just last Friday on October 22nd, the State of California filed a lawsuit against Yeezy claiming that the company violated a section of state business code that requires items sold over the internet to be shipped within 30 days. If the items aren’t shipped within the 30-day timeframe, it’s the merchant’s responsibility to provide a refund or remedy the issue with a list of approved fixes, including issuing a delay notice.

Los Angeles District Attorney, George Gascón, filed the civil complaint against Yeezy Apparel and Yeezy companies. Gascón is also supported by fellow District Attorneys in Alameda, Napa, and Sonoma counties.

The complaint filed by the District Attorneys allege that Yeezy Apparel and Yeezy companies failed to give customers an appropriate delay notice on items that hadn’t shipped within the 30-day timeframe. Yeezy was also required by the State of California to not only estimate the expected length of the delay, but also to offer a refund upon customer request.

Yeezy Apparel and Yeezy companies crossed other violations of the business code, but most notably, in regards to expedited shipping. The complaint also claimed that Yeezy companies made false or misleading statements about their process to “ship products within a certain timeframe, particularly where customers paid an additional charge for expedited shipping.”

However, the lawsuit did not disclose an exact date as to when the alleged violations began. Gascón and the other District Attorneys are pursuing a decision that would permanently prevent Yeezy companies from continuing on with the alleged practices. Fines could also reach up to $2,500 for each breach of California state business code, which doesn’t include the restitution cost for each affected customer.

At this moment in time, there is no public record of response to the allegations by Kanye West or the Yeezy companies team. Keep it locked on @NiceKicks for updates.
