Before grails like the Fragment Design x Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 High OG SP, we saw early heaters from the rapper such as the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 4 “Cactus Jack” and the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 33. Although the AJ33 hasn’t been one of La Flame’s most memorable moments with Jordan Brand, the sneaker still holds a special place for those who have been a longtime fan of the Houston native. Recently photos of a Travis Scott x Air Jordan 33 sample leaked online, showing that the sneaker started completely off-kilter from its final design.
Travis Scott has never veered away from experimenting with color, but this early sample of his Air Jordan 33 reflects a time when he was still in the process of cementing his signature color palette. Known as the “Vast Grey” colorway, the sneakers have a mismatched upper, with one shoe appearing more grey than the other. It’s odd to see the sneaker dressed in these shades, as this is somewhat a lighter color palette than what we’re used to from Travis Scott. The released version of this sneaker comes in “Army Olive/Black/Ale Brown/Sail,” a much more complementary colorway for the silhouette.
It’s safe to say that this version of the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 33 will never hit shelves, but it’s definitely for good reason. Nevertheless, take a look at the sneaker below and check out our Jordan Release Dates page to see what’s dropping next.
