The NBA preseason begins this week and Kawhi Leonard was spotted at the Clippers media day wearing the never-before-seen New Balance KAWHI II “Monopoly.” Inspired by the timeless Hasbro board game, the sneaker illustrates the duality of money — a theme previously expressed on the New Balance KAWHI II “New Money.”

Using the board game’s colorful property squares as inspiration, this New Balance KAWHI II has a multi-colored outsole that represent all the different blocks in Monopoly. The upper comes ready in a shade of light blue, similar to board’s mint green hue. The tongue features the game’s iconic “GO” arrow logo, which allows you to collect $200 every time you circle the board. Kawhi uses the game’s capitalistic objectives to convey a greater message, “The Boardman gets paid. It’s all about money.”

Details on the New Balance KAWHI II “Monopoly” are still extremely limited, but a release date is expected sometime later this year. Stayed tuned to our Sneaker Release Dates page for updates. While we wait for more info, take a first look at the sneaker below and follow @NiceDrops on Twitter.
