Tony Hawk’s The Skatepark Project & Vans Drop Sk8-Hi To Celebrate the Community

For its latest collaboration, Vans Skateboarding has tapped pro-skater and cultural icon Tony Hawk and his non-profit, The Skatepark Project (TSP), for a collaborative capsule that celebrates the skateboarding community.

Along with apparel and accessory items, the hero piece is The Skatepark Project x Vans Sk8-Hi. The sneaker boasts Vans’ iconic checkerboard print in various sizes and layers to give off a groovy effect. To further the message, TSP’s “Build Community” is emblazed on the heels. Elsewhere, the black and white print is superimposed with images of skateparks.

Tony Hawk himself describes The Skatepark Project as “a nonprofit organization working to increase access to outdoor recreation and free play through the creation of safe and inclusive community skateparks.”
