History is surely in the making as Sotheby’s is set to auction off Michael Jordan‘s Air Jordan 13 “Bred” from the 1998 NBA Finals. The iconic kicks are expected to break the world record for any pair of sneakers sold at auction as the shoe was recently spotlighted in The Last Dance docuseries.
These Air Jordan 13s are the only complete pair of Michael Jordan’s game-worn shoes from the 1998 NBA Finals and are estimated to sell anywhere between $2-4 million USD.
MJ memorabilia continues to be some of the most valuable amongst sports collectors as Sotheby’s recently auctioned off six pairs of Michael Jordan’s championship Air Jordans.
This particular AJ13 is one of the most iconic sneakers from Michael Jordan’s career being that this is the final pair of Air Jordan 13 “Breds” that he wore during gametime. The sneakers feature large silver-ink MJ signatures on each toe-box and are in immaculate condition.
The pair was given to a ball boy from Jordan after the game and has been authenticated by The MeiGray Group. The sneakers mark the start of the VICTORIAM sales, a two-part online auction series that features top tier sports memorabilia from some of the world’s most legendary athletes.
Th auction for Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 13 “Bred” from the 1998 NBA Finals opens on April 3rd and will close on April 11th. A public exhibition will be held at Sotheby’s New York on April 5th. Check out the pair now on Sothebys.com.
