Junya Watanabe Covers the New Balance Rainier in “Wheat”

Following the runway debuts of the Junya Watanabe x New Balance 650 and the Junya Watanabe Man x New Balance RC30 comes the Junya Watanabe MAN x New Balance Rainier “Wheat.” Like many of New Balance’s other silhouettes, the New Balance Rainier is on the rise since Aimé Leon Dore released a trio of colorways earlier this year.

Junya Watanabe gives the New Balance Rainier a tonal makeover as the upper incorporates complementary shades of Wheat, Beige, and Brown. The silhouette is constructed with various panels of leather, suede, and canvas. The New Balance logo is embossed on the mid-panel, meanwhile Junya Watanabe’s “EYE” logo is on the heel. The sneaker is finished with hook eyelets, Black tongue tags, an EVA foam midsole, and Vibram rubber outsole.
