In 2017, Russell Westbrook achieved a significant career milestone in the NBA by becoming one of only two players in history, alongside Oscar Robertson in 1962, to average a triple-double for an entire season, which earned him the league MVP award. The following year, Westbrook was given the nickname “Mr. Triple Double” and to commemorate his achievement, Jordan Brand gifted Westbrook the Air Jordan 3 “Mr. Triple Double” PE.
This custom PE uses the colors of the Oklahoma City Thunder as this was Westbrook’s team at the time. The upper is crafted with white tumbled leather and features perforations on the collar and tongue. The sneaker has smooth leather mudguards that showcase Westbrook’s historic stats, meanwhile the lateral midsole features his signature motto “Why Not,” with accents in orange and blue on the elephant print overlays. The tongue features Westbrook’s personal logo, while a black Jumpman logo adorns the heel and insole. A translucent outsole completes the sneaker.
