New Balance celebrates its long-standing history with the upcoming New Balance Made in USA “Grey Day” Collection. As an ode to Grey, a color that has become synonymous with the Boston-based brand, New Balance covers the 990v4, 990v6, 996, and 998, in Grey hues.

Back in the late 1970’s, In the late 1970s, New Balance started using Grey as a solution for urban runners whose white shoes were getting ruined by city conditions. Not only did Grey match the cement that was scuffing up the runners’ shoes, but the Grey suede also reinforced durability and fit seamlessly into developing trends at the time.

All four of the sneakers from the New Balance “Grey Day” Collection are made up with a mix of materials featuring parts of hairy and smooth suede, as well as leather. The sneaker also comes with vintage-inspired laces and co-branded tongue tags. Each iteration features the signature New Balance “N” in Navy Blue.
