Sneakers and hats (specifically fitteds) have always been the bookends of a majority of outfits and speak to your style, your favorite brands/teams, and maybe even your roots.
With the overlap of sneakers and hats continuing to grow, Vick Almighty took a trio of fitteds from Hat Club‘s limited-edition “Super Mart” collection that took place during Super Bowl 52 in Arizona and turned them into a custom Nike SB Dunk Low.
“I chose the Arizona Diamondbacks to pay homage to my home team,” Vick said. “After I had the hats I knew I needed the right collaborator for the job, so I reached out to my good friend Jordon Diab to make this one-of-a-kind custom.”
The combination of kelly green and a darker forest green with cream hits and the touch of red from the patches create what Vick thinks a New Era x Nike SB Dunk Low would look like. Additionally, the green hue nods to the classic green undervisor from hats that continues to be a staple in fitted culture to this day.
“What I noticed as a sneakerhead and avid hat wearer is that Nike has never created a sneaker with New Era or Hat Club, so we wanted to be the first to do so,” he said.
Utilizing the side patches, Batterman logos, and more, the Hat Club x Nike SB Dunk Low custom is designed with patent leather, premium Italian leather, and up-cycled material from the three different hats.
While we won’t see a release on these anytime soon, keep it locked on Nice Kicks on Instagram and the Nike Dunk release dates page to stay on top of all the upcoming Dunks. Take a detailed look at the custom creation below.
