Under Armour kicked off the 2024 WNBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix with an empowering event on July 19, hosting 20 local middle school girls from the non-profit Score Hoops at the WNBA Live activation space. The initiative, themed “See Me,” aimed to inspire young girls by making female athletes visible and tangible role models.
The attendees received new basketball sneakers, special Under Armour gear, and products from the Little Words Project and Glossier. Under Armour athlete Marina Mabrey surprised the group, enhancing the excitement during the unboxing moment.
Adding to the inspiration, Under Armour athletes Kelsey Plum and Saniya Rivers, alongside Phoenix Mercury head coach Nate Tibbetts and his assistants, conducted a skills clinic at the Center Court. This hands-on session was followed by a panel discussion featuring Kelsey and Saniya, where they emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment and fielded questions from the enthusiastic girls.
The event concluded with a visit to the Google Pixel space, where the girls showcased their tunnel walk poses. To top off the memorable day, Under Armour provided tickets for the girls and their parents to attend the WNBA All-Star Skills Challenge, ensuring the experience was unforgettable.
