adidas is bringing back a certified banger from the vault to kick off the month of October. The Crazy 8 “Wheat” is dropping, and it’s serving up major ’90s nostalgia with a twist that’ll have sneakerheads and ballers alike foaming at the mouth.
Originally known as the KB8, the Crazy 8 burst onto the scene in ’97 as Kobe Bryant’s first signature shoe with the Three Stripes. This silhouette was revolutionary, featuring the distinctive Feet You Wear technology that aimed to mimic the natural shape of the foot.
For the upcoming season, adidas is flipping the script with this “Wheat” colorway. The iconic wavy design that made the Crazy 8 a head-turner back in the day is still present, but now it’s drenched in a buttery wheat suede that’s giving us serious Timberland vibes.
In terms of details, the upper is a mix of nubuck and leather, with tonal stitching that adds depth without breaking up that clean wheat look. The chunky midsole, a hallmark of the Crazy 8’s design, comes in a complementing shade, creating a subtle contrast that ties the whole package together.
Mark your calendars as the adidas Crazy 8 “Wheat” will be released on October 1 via adidas.com and select retailers for $160. Keep it locked to Nice Kicks on Instagram and the sneaker release dates to stay on top of the latest news and drops.
