Today, our Kicks On Court takes time out from the professional side and focuses on some college basketball sneaker news (Don’t worry we still have some NBA pics for you.) The University of Memphis Tigers recently inked a five-year, $11.3 million contract with Nike to supply sneakers, apparel and equipment for all Tiger athletic teams.
The deal was announced last Tuesday; however, it didn’t take long for the Tigers basketball team to showcase its Nike affiliation. Last night, against the University of Massachusetts, most of the Memphis Tigers hooped in a royal blue/white colorway of the Nike Hyperdunk. While we’ve seen the Hyperdunk undoubtedly take over the NBA scene, it remains to be seen how well they do on the college hardwood. Besides the Memphis Hyperdunk PE, we have also seen PEs for Texas, Syracuse, Kentucky, and Oregon. On another note, we have seen many Jordan Brand members sporting the Jordan Jumpman PE in many different colors lately; however it’s nothing more original than a typical black/white colorway. Check out Michael Finley’s Jumpman PEs in the San Antonio Spurs colorway. Click the jump to see more kicks worn by Kevin Durant, Tim Duncan, Baron Davis, Amare Stoudamire, and others. |
