In a surprise move by Nike, the sneaker we once thought was to be scrapped and left as only a sample, the Zoom KD III “EA Sports,” will release. However, notice is very short. This special edition sneaker was designed in honor of Kevin Durant gracing the cover of EA Sports NBA Elite ’11. Unfortunately for gamers and for KD, the game was scrapped and never released. That also meant this sneaker was to be scrapped, or so we thought. Nike and EA have decided to drop this shoe in very limited fashion at only one Nike Store in the country.
As for the shoe, the quarter panel and forefoot show off a pixelated print, as do the tongue and backing to the translucent outsole. The texture navy upper is actually 3M and brilliantly glows in low light or a camera’s flash. Orange and yellow accents are used throughout. The Nike Store in Santa Monica is the only account releasing this shoe, and you can find out the very specific method by which to grab a pair below. From Nike:
***You may line up a half hour before noon for wristband distribution. This will be strictly enforced and anyone lining up before 11:30am will be asked to leave***
Those with wristbands can come back to attempt to buy a pair when they are released at 8pm. We ask that everyone with a wristband line up 30 minutes prior to 8:00 PM on Thursday night so that we can organize the line numerically ? we will start selling at 8:00 PM.
ONE wristband per person.
Wristbands DO NOT guarantee a pair of shoes or guarantee a size ? wristbands ONLY guarantee your spot in line for this launch on Friday.
ONE pair per person may be purchased.
