In addition to the “Playoffs” Air Jordan 13, Jordan Brand will also release its second colorway of MJ’s third signature model this year in the form of the “Black History Month” Air Jordan 3. Jordan Brand teamed up with Nike and Converse for the “Black History Month” Collection which also includes a Kobe VI and a Converse Star Player EVO. This shoe, along with the previously-mentioned models, was created to celebrate African-American heritage and culture. The predominance of the base is simply colored in black and gold; yet, there are a ton of African-American inspirations throughout this design. In detail, a red, black and green Black History Month appears throughout the upper representing the African American flag. The elephant print, which is always incorporated on the Air Jordan 3, is replaced on this particular pair by laser sketches that hold significance to MJ and Black History Month. Other features include “A Call to Greatness” badge on the insole and the number XXXV to represent the 35th anniversary of Black History Month. The “Black History Month” Air Jordan 3 will hit select retailers in limited numbers tomorrow, for $175.
