Photos of the Air Jordan 1 Hi “Banned” have surfaced numerous times over the past eight months; yet every time this sneaker is shown, we notice a new element on this shoe. Therefore, we do not know what the final version will look like (if it releases at all). This may be the closest thing to an official release considering the images of the box. One of these new photos reveal the exact date NBA commissioner David Stern banned MJ’s shoes on the inner lining. Also, the phrase, “On September 15th, Nike created a revolutionary new basketball shoe” (from the famous banned commercial) is seen on the insole. Besides the newly-noticed details, this shoe is obviously dressed in OG colors with a black/red premium leather base and a white midsole. If this release actually dropped, would you purchase?
In case you didn’t know, the “Banned” Air Jordan 1 Hi is a play on David Stern’s attempt to ban MJ’s first signature shoe, the Air Jordan 1. Although the ban was unsuccessful, Stern resorted to fining MJ $5,000 per game, a tab Nike gladly paid in return for the attention surrounding the signature startup.
