The “Cement” Jordan Spizikes were the last Spiz’ikes to release in 2007, but though many thought the campaign was complete, Jordan Brand had other plans in store for 2008 and the future.
This Spizike received the warmest response of all of the shoes upon first release due to its familiar color and combination of textures. The “Cement” Spizikes featured the “Spike” print (similar to elephant print), patent leather, and speckled wings (from the Jordan 4). This Spizike was released at convenient timing with Holiday shopping kicking off just as this shoe hit stores.
The nickname of the shoe is somewhat disputed. Many have referred to it as the “OG” color due to its likeness to original Jordan colors, but many refer to the first Spizike, White/Varsity Red-Classic Green, as this since it was the first Spizike to release. Whatever you want to call them, they are a great shoe and definitely a standout from the lineup.
