After a short but impressive college career at Cal, Jason Kidd took his talents to the Lone Star State. In his rookie season with the Mavs, Kidd led the Three Js backcourt in Dallas and also led the NBA in triple doubles. He shared Rooke of the Years honors with Grant Hill during his debut, followed by an All-Star Game spot in his sophomore season.

On the foot, Jason Kidd became one of the leading sponsors for the Flight Camp. Early on, he rocked some of the same models popularized by Penny Hardaway. Soon after, he broke onto the sneaker scene in a major way with the Nike Zoom Flight 95. The bug-eyed sneakers would be known as Kidd’s kicks unofficially, with his first signature coming in the form of the Nike Zoom Flight V.
